Occupational safety is a way to protect yourself on the construction site
At the Trade Union Social Housing project in Giao Long commune, workers always comply with labor safety regulations, equip themselves with full helmets, reflective jackets, and gloves before starting shifts. Mr. Le Van Linh - from An Giang province - said that workers at the construction site are all disseminated with safety regulations and procedures before working. According to him, strict compliance with regulations helps limit risks and ensure health throughout the working process, so he and his colleagues are always careful when working on high or transporting materials.
Worker Mai Thi Hong Nhung - from Tan Phu commune - said that she has worked as a construction worker for more than 20 years at many different construction sites. According to Ms. Nhung, labor safety is increasingly being concerned by construction units compared to before.
Working in construction is hard and risky, so everyone must be careful. Before working, we are reminded about safety, from bringing protective gear to working in accordance with procedures. Safety for myself, for colleagues, then the job will be long-term and stable" - Ms. Nhung shared.
Strengthening safety supervision in construction
Mr. Pham Tien Hai - representative of Phuc Anh Construction Investment Consulting and Design Co., Ltd., the construction supervision unit - said that the project is always closely monitored for occupational safety regulations: "We regularly remind workers to comply with regulations, use full protective equipment and comply with working procedures. Areas at risk of unsafety are all warned and strictly controlled." According to Mr. Hai, every Wednesday, the unit organizes occupational safety training for workers. Each team has a person in charge of monitoring to limit risks in construction.
Mr. Thai Van Hung - Deputy Project Commander, representative of the construction unit, General Corporation 789 (Ministry of National Defense) - said that ensuring labor safety is always considered an important requirement in the project implementation process. Safety regulations are thoroughly grasped to each construction team. "In construction, labor safety is always the top priority. When workers are guaranteed safety, the project can maintain progress and achieve long-term efficiency," the representative of the construction unit added. Thanks to the coordination between the management unit, supervision consultant and the workforce, labor safety at the project is being maintained stably. This is also an important factor helping the construction process to take place safely and effectively.
The Trade Union Social Housing Project (Giao Long commune, Vinh Long province) is invested by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. The project started on September 30, 2025, up to now the construction unit has reached about 20% of the total volume of works, expected to be completed in 2027. The project has an area of more than 3.2ha, including 4 7-story blocks and 2 parking blocks, with 699 apartments equipped with basic furniture such as beds, wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, serving nearly 2,000 workers; total investment capital of more than 554 billion VND from trade union financial sources.
