Quang Ninh - The project "Supporting female workers in difficulty to develop the family economy" of TKV Trade Union has helped female workers have more sources of income.

Providing livelihoods, creating trust

The project "Supporting female workers in difficulty to develop the family economy" implemented by TKV Trade Union from 2022 to present has been implemented in four phases, becoming one of the programs of care with a unique mark for female workers in the whole industry.

Each stage has left practical results, both supporting the family's livelihood, inspiring will, and creating new motivation for women to overcome difficulties. Entering phase 4, the scale and influence of the Project continued to be expanded, receiving special attention from TKV Group and the active response of grassroots trade unions.

According to the representative of TKV Trade Union, since 2022, when the first breeding animals were given to families of female workers in difficult circumstances, the Project "Supporting female workers in difficult circumstances to develop the family economy", implemented by TKV Trade Union, has begun a quiet but persistent journey.

That journey was not noisy or ostentatious, but quietly went into every roof, every barn, sowing seeds for livelihood and confidence for female workers in the whole industry.

The four stages have passed, each stage of the Project has left impressions: There are more chickens growing every day, more pigs preparing to be sold, more fattening, and mushroom bags being cared for evenly.

But above all, it is a stimulation of will, a motivation for women who are both working and taking care of their families to have more faith that they can overcome difficulties with their own hands and diligence.

In previous stages, many households of female workers have successfully implemented the Project "Supporting female workers in difficulty to develop their family economy", including Ms. Dong Thi Hue - Mao Khe Equipment Operation workshop, Silver Stone moved warehouse Company. With a support level of 10.5 million VND, corresponding to 70 breeding chickens, supporting feed and disease prevention, Ms. Hue has successfully implemented a chicken farming model, earning a revenue of 28.5 million VND.

Entering phase 4, the Project "Supporting female workers in difficulty to develop the family economy" continues to be expanded in both scale and influence. The close attention of the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) and the active response of grassroots trade unions have created a solid foundation for the program to continue to penetrate deeper into the lives of workers.

During this period, TKV Trade Union allocated a total of VND 1.29 billion from the Group's welfare fund to support 123 female employees in 20 units. According to the initial decision, the number of support included 6,960 breeding chickens, 40 breeding pigs, 15 silkworm pupae and 1,000 mushroom breeding bags.

However, thanks to the proactiveness and flexibility of grassroots units and female employees, the actual number of chickens, 85 pigs, 15 chads of chin and 1,000 mushroom bags were given to families.

Not only stopping at providing breeding animals, many units also accompany with other practical support. Na Duong Coal Company provided an additional support of 1 million VND/household; other units contributed labor, renovated barns and livestock areas. From seemingly small things, family economic models have more favorable conditions to quickly stabilize and promote efficiency.

The highlight of phase 4 is that the majority of families choose larger, healthy breeds that have been fully vaccinated, helping to reduce risks in livestock farming. The time to give breeding animals has favorable weather, creating better conditions for care, shortening export and sales time and increasing economic efficiency. In addition to familiar models such as chicken and pig farming, new models such as silkworm farming and mushroom growing have also appeared during this period - expanding the direction of economic development in accordance with local conditions.

Continue to expand

Among the families participating in the Project at this stage, the family of Ms. Vi Thi Hang (worker at Ta Sa Na Ngan Hydropower Plant - Cao Bang Minerals and Metallurgy Joint Stock Company, Mineral Corporation) is a typical example of courage and responsibility with the opportunity.

According to the decision, her family was supported with 40 chickens and 1 pig, equivalent to 12 million VND. But instead of following the "exemplary", she and her family sat down, carefully considered the actual conditions, and proactively adjusted the plan.

From that support source, her family decided to buy 9 breeding pigs and 80 chickens. The increase in the number of pigs - a type of animal with high economic value but also requires a lot of care - shows that she does not consider support as just an immediate help, but an investment opportunity to create a more sustainable source of income. All breeds are carefully selected, healthy and fully vaccinated, helping to reduce risks and opening up expectations of clear economic efficiency in the coming time.

Through four stages, the Project has proven its effectiveness and impact to spread throughout the industry. Many female workers' families have had more stable income, improved their quality of life and created additional jobs for family members.

Based on those positive results, the TKV Trade Union Women's Committee continues to propose the Group to support funding to implement the next stages, expand beneficiaries and improve the quality of support, continue to accompany female workers.

Ms. Le Thi Kim Ngan - Deputy Head of Labor Relations Department, TKV Trade Union - shared: Through the first three stages, the Project has affirmed its practical significance for female workers. Each seed and crop given is not only material, but also a belief and opportunity for women to rise up and stabilize their lives. Phase 4, continue to be implemented on a larger scale, expected to create many positive changes. From the achieved results, TKV Trade Union continues to propose the Group to expand the next stages".

From an initial goal of supporting female workers in difficulty, the Project has become an impressive model, creating additional revenue, contributing to increasing the connection between trade unions and workers. After the stages, the initiative of grassroots trade unions, the spirit of overcoming difficulties of women and the attention of the Group create a solid foundation for the model to continue to spread throughout the industry - in line with the spirit of "caring for and accompanying" of TKV Trade Union.

The project not only brings economic value but also deeply demonstrates the spirit of "mutual love" of TKV Trade Union and the trade unions of companies for union members and workers.Thereby, the role of the Trade Union organization continues to be affirmed - a reliable support, a bridge between workers and enterprises, contributing to creating harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations.

In the context of many female workers facing many difficulties in economy and life, these activities are truly a bright spot in the work of caring for workers, demonstrating the humanity and deep social responsibility of the trade union organization in the new period.
