The “Connecting Enterprises” forum was organized for the first time in Da Nang by Lao Dong Newspaper, the Management Board of Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Zones (KCNC&CKCN), and the Da Nang City Labor Federation on the occasion of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day on October 13. At the forum, one of the hot issues that many enterprises proposed to the city leaders and related departments and branches was that they have had great difficulty recruiting quality workers in recent times.
Mr. Hiroyuki Okuda, General Director of Murata Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd., specializing in manufacturing electronic components, with a factory at Lot A1, Road No. 2, Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City, said that one of the difficulties his company is facing is not recruiting enough unskilled workers in the context of high production demand. Previously, at the "Job Fair for Demobilized Soldiers and Workers in Lien Chieu District in 2024" held on September 28, Murata Manufacturing Vietnam Co., Ltd. announced the recruitment of 200 unskilled workers, 20 technical staff, and 5 purchasing staff but has not been able to recruit them.
“During the job fair, workers come to see information about the company, salary, and job before deciding whether to accept the job or not, so the recruitment efficiency is not as high as expected. I hope that through today's forum, we will find effective solutions, especially training quality human resources to develop together more strongly” - Mr. Hiroyuki Okuda said.
In July 2024, when the Management Board of Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Park organized a conference on "Removing difficulties and obstacles for businesses", many businesses also raised similar issues. Mr. Nguyen Van Phu - Deputy Director of Daiwa Da Nang Co., Ltd. said that compared to the previous period, recruiting unskilled workers is also facing difficulties. "In 2024, Daiwa Da Nang Co., Ltd. increased productivity by 30%, so we need to recruit 300 unskilled workers. However, in the first 6 months of the year, Daiwa Da Nang Co., Ltd. still could not recruit workers" - Mr. Phu said.
Mr. Huynh Nhat Huy, General Director of VAFI Company Limited, also mentioned another difficulty related to employees quitting their jobs. “In the first 6 months of the year, we encountered many difficulties in recruitment and employee quitting. On the business side, we have reviewed and checked whether the company's welfare policies are suitable for employees or not? However, we see that employees often quit for reasons of returning to their hometowns or other reasons,” said Mr. Huy.
More than 6,000 job positions are waiting for workers
At the “Job Fair for Demobilized Soldiers and Workers in Lien Chieu District in 2024” recently held, 86 businesses registered to recruit workers, with a need to recruit 6,214 workers. Of which, nearly 300 workers had university and college degrees, the rest were intermediate and elementary level workers, technical workers and unskilled workers in a variety of industries and occupations.
