Industrial production in Ho Chi Minh City has recovered positively, businesses are making efforts to find more orders and recruit more workers to serve production at the end of the year. However, the labor force is scarce, many companies are recruiting not enough labor to produce.

Recruiting more workers to serve production at the end of the year

Binh Duong area was formerly an industrial production center in the North of Ho Chi Minh City. Currently, many businesses are recruiting workers to serve production activities at the end of the year.

Cua It - Ahoa Technology Co., Ltd. (Tan Hiep ward, Ho Chi Minh City) manufactures exported wooden furniture with about 1,000 workers busy producing year-end orders. Mr. Dao Quang Tho - Company's Human Resources Director - said that the company is in need of recruiting 50 more unskilled workers in all departments.

According to Mr. Dao Quang Tho, when working at the company, employees are fully covered by insurance according to regulations, are granted labor protection, and are provided with lunch and afternoon overtime. The basic salary is 5.55 million VND/month.

In addition, the company supported 1 million VND in equipment and fuel, supported a boarding house with 500,000 VND, and rewarded the work with 350,000-750,000 VND. Total monthly income is from 9.5-15 million VND.

Yazaki EDS Vietnam Co., Ltd. said that the company is also recruiting 300 unskilled workers for the factory in Di An and Ben Cat. Employees working at the company are fully covered by insurance. The company has many welfare policies such as: Holidays, Tet, gifts for female workers on holidays, sleeper bus tickets to return home during the Lunar New Year, free childcare at the company's kindergarten, etc.

scarce labor force

According to records, many industrial production enterprises in the North of Ho Chi Minh City currently have a need to recruit workers. However, the current labor force is quite scarce, causing businesses to not recruit enough workers to organize production. The reason for the scarcity of labor is that at the end of the year, workers rarely change jobs. Workers from other provinces and cities across the country have come to Ho Chi Minh City to find jobs.

This makes it difficult for many remote areas in the North of Ho Chi Minh City to recruit. Localities such as Tan Uyen, Binh Co, Tan Hiep, Bau Bang, Phu Giao, Ben Cat... are facing a shortage of labor. Manufacturing enterprises must contract with supply companies to find seasonal workers. However, these supply companies have not found a source of labor.

TTN HR Company Limited (a labor supply enterprise, located on Road 19, VSIP 2 Industrial Park, Vinh Tan Ward) is recruiting about 60 enterprises, mainly in the fields of wood furniture and sofa production. The number of workers to be recruited is over 3,000.

Notably, one enterprise needs to recruit a large number of workers up to 1,700 people for 3 factories: Sofa factory needs to recruit 700 unskilled workers, paper factory needs to recruit 500 unskilled workers, wood factory needs to recruit 500 unskilled workers. However, this supply company also does not recruit enough workers for businesses.

Some other labor supply units said that the labor force to Ho Chi Minh City to find a job is very small. Meanwhile, these companies are also losing money because workers have returned to their hometowns. Currently, there are very few workers in the northern provinces. Enterprises expect a source of labor in the Central Highlands provinces, but the recruitment source is not much.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs has just informed that the city's labor market is maintaining a positive growth momentum in the last months of 2025. The total demand for new and replaced jobs near Tet 2026 is estimated to reach 25,000 to 30,000 locations, mainly serving production, consumption and festival services. Currently, units under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs are strengthening the organization of labor connection activities with enterprises.
