The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just assigned the Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board) to organize the posting of a survey announcement of investors' interest in 4 BOT (build - operate - transfer) projects at the city gateway, implemented according to Resolution 98 of the National Assembly.
The Traffic Department is responsible for synthesizing the survey results and reporting to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Department of Finance and the Department of Construction for consideration and as a basis for implementing the next step. In case of arising difficulties or problems beyond their authority, the units must promptly propose a handling plan and submit it to the competent authority for consideration and decision.
The project to expand National Highway 1 (from Kinh Duong Vuong Street to Long An border, now Tay Ninh province) is nearly 10 km long, expanding the road surface to 60 m with a scale of 10 - 12 lanes, instead of only 6 lanes as at present.
The middle section of the route (6 - 8 lanes) is designed for fast vehicles at a speed of 80 km/h and has a toll collection; the two parallel roads on both sides have a speed of 60 km/h, no toll collection.

The total preliminary investment capital is about VND 16,285 billion, of which the participating budget is more than VND 9,600 billion, the rest is arranged by investors. The project is expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2026 and be completed in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The project to upgrade National Highway 22 (from An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3) is 8 km long, expanded to 60 m with 10 lanes. Overpasses will be built at major intersections to reduce traffic conflicts and ensure continuous traffic.
Of which, 4 lanes are for express vehicles with a speed of 80 km/h, the lanes on both sides have a speed of 60 km/h.

The total investment is about VND 6,234 billion, including budget capital and investor capital. Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed in 2028.
The project to upgrade the North - South axis road (from Nguyen Van Linh Street to Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway) is about 8.6 km long and will be expanded to 60 m.
A 4-lane elevated road will be built between the routes, with 6-lane parallel roads on both sides. The elevated road is expected to collect tolls, while the parallel roads on both sides are free, creating more options for people.

The total estimated investment capital is VND9,894 billion, of which more than VND5,200 billion is arranged by the investor, the rest is from the budget. The project is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed in 2028.
The project to expand National Highway 13 (from Binh Trieu Bridge to Vinh Binh Bridge) is nearly 6 km long, expanding to 60 m.
In the middle of the route, a 4-lane elevated road will be built, with 3-lane parallel roads on both sides, helping to increase traffic capacity and reduce prolonged congestion at the eastern gateway area.

The total investment capital is about VND 20,900 billion, of which VND 14,600 billion is budget capital and VND 6,300 billion is mobilized by investors. The project is expected to start construction in the fourth quarter of 2026 and be completed in 2028.
