Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan has just signed and issued the Vocational Training Plan in Dong Thap province for the period 2026 - 2030. Accordingly, Dong Thap identifies the vision of developing vocational education in an open, flexible, modern direction and closely linked to the needs of the labor market. This is considered one of the important pillars to improve labor productivity, increase competitiveness and ensure social security.

In which, Dong Thap sets a target that by 2030, the rate of trained workers will reach at least 82.5%, of which degrees and certificates will reach 43.5% or more. In the period 2026 - 2030, the whole province is expected to train 164,005 students and trainees at all levels.
To aim to realize this goal, the province identifies innovation in training, strengthening digital transformation as one of the highlights and will invest in developing digital infrastructure, building a common learning resource warehouse, deploying online training platforms and virtual practice rooms. The training program will be innovated in an open, flexible direction, approaching output standards according to the National Qualifications Framework.

New occupations, future skills, especially in the field of technology, will be focused on development with the goal that 100% of vocational education institutions and key training programs meet quality accreditation standards; 100% of teachers meet digital competency standards, and about 90% of managers are trained in modern management skills. Especially, training must be linked to businesses and the labor market in the direction of linking training institutions and businesses. At the same time, schools will coordinate with businesses in developing programs, organizing internships, training according to actual needs and supporting employment for graduates. Exploiting labor market data to forecast human resource needs, thereby adjusting the scale and structure of training appropriately. Activities such as Job Fairs and skills competitions will also be organized regularly to improve skills for learners.
