On April 3, the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that the launching ceremony of Workers' Month 2026 associated with the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026) is expected to take place on April 24 at the Cultural and Sports House under the Gia Lai Trade Union Institution (Long Van Urban Area, Quy Nhon Tay Ward).
Workers' Month 2026 has the theme "Gia Lai Workers innovate and improve labor productivity".
The program aims to continue to affirm the role and historical mission of the Vietnamese working class; promote the concern and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, mass organizations and the business community in caring for and building an increasingly strong worker contingent in the province.
The activities in Workers' Month aim to consolidate trust, strengthen the attachment of union members and workers (UM, W) to the Party, State and Trade Union organization; arouse the aspiration to contribute, promote the spirit of pioneering, responsibility, and innovation in labor and production.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation, activities in Workers' Month 2026 will be organized diversely, with focus and key points, mainly at the grassroots level, taking workers as the center, thereby better caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.
Key activities include: Launching ceremony of Workers' Month associated with the Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026; celebrating the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day; commending typical union members and workers; commending typical grassroots trade union presidents in collective dialogue and negotiation in 2026; organizing the Gia Lai Provincial Workers' Men's Football Tournament; deploying the "May Dialogue" Program.
The Provincial Labor Federation also organized visits and gifts to union members and workers who suffered severe labor accidents, suffered from serious illnesses, and were in particularly difficult circumstances; presented Trade Union Warm Houses; deployed the peak month of union member development, established grassroots trade unions; introduced outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, fostering, and admission in 2026.
In addition, Trade Unions at all levels will reward collectives and individuals with good models and effective ways of doing things in implementing Workers' Month 2026; launch the "Trade Union Rendezvous" Program for the period 2026-2030 with the theme "Gia Lai Trade Union connects, shares, and develops with union members and workers".
