On April 4, information from the People's Committee of Mu Cang Chai commune (Lao Cai province), local authorities are coordinating with functional units to verify a labor accident at the road construction site connecting the IC15 intersection of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway.
According to a quick report, at about 2:30 PM on April 2nd, at Km9 of the IC15 connecting road section passing through Thao Chua Chai village, Mu Cang Chai commune, a group of workers from a contractor unit was leveling and constructing the embankment section when soil from the positive slope suddenly collapsed.
When the landslide was discovered, this group of people ran away from the scene. 2 people did not have time to escape and were buried by soil and rocks, leading to death.
The unfortunate victims were identified as Mr. Mua A L. (born 1986, residing in Da Den village, Nam Co commune) and Mr. Luu Trung Q. (born 1995 residing in Cau Thia ward, Lao Cai province).
According to Mr. Tran Viet Dung - Director of Construction Investment Management Board No. 1 of Lao Cai province, after the accident occurred, the investor directed the contractor to temporarily fix it, and support the family to bring the victim back for burial according to local customs.
The cause of the accident is being investigated and clarified by Lao Cai Provincial Police.
