On the morning of April 25, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation organized the Launching Ceremony of Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and Culture and Sports Day 2026 at the Legal Consulting and Employee Support Center.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Vu Anh Duc - Deputy Secretary in charge of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - along with representatives of leaders, trade union officials, union members, and workers in the city.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation - emphasized that the program takes place in a vibrant emulation atmosphere of union members and workers across the country towards major holidays of the historic May such as the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South, national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2026), 140th anniversary of International Labor Day May 1st (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), 71st anniversary of Hai Phong Liberation Day (May 13, 1955 - May 13, 2026) and the Red Flamboyant Flower Festival in 2026.
According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, May is a month of special significance for Trade Union officials, union members, and workers of Hai Phong City with many important milestones. In 2026, Workers' Month has the theme "Vietnamese workers innovate and improve labor productivity". This is considered a strong appeal, expressing the aspiration to rise up of the working class in the new development stage.
Leaders of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation called on trade union officials, union members, and workers to promote intelligence, promote the emulation movement of good labor, creative labor; actively participate in building sustainable agencies, units, and enterprises, contributing to completing the city's socio-economic development goals in 2026.
Within the framework of Workers' Month, many practical activities will be implemented such as free motorbike oil donation, health check-ups and consultations, Blood Donation Day "Drops of Love", organizing men's and women's football tournaments, Pickleball tournaments, and programs to honor and care for union members and workers.
The launching ceremony is expected to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere, spreading the spirit of "Confidence - Courage - Intelligence - Love" among the city's workers, civil servants, and laborers, contributing to building the Hai Phong working class to become stronger and stronger.
