Practical" professions take the throne
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tu - Director of Tu An Human Resource Supply Co., Ltd. (An Khanh commune, Hanoi) said that for more than half a year, his company has received many orders for personnel in electric car repair, industrial 3D printer operation, rooftop solar power system installers...
The demand for skilled labor in these industries has increased by 50% compared to the period before 2025. To have human resources, we have contacted many vocational colleges in Hanoi City to have more personnel to supply to the market. The salary level of workers in some industries has increased significantly, currently fluctuating around 15 million VND/month for some specialized industries, 10 million VND/month for basic industries," Mr. Tu said.
Also according to Mr. Tu, after 15 years working in the human resource supply sector, he realizes that currently the concept of "must get into university at all costs" is gradually being replaced by a more pragmatic mindset: Learning something to graduate immediately and get a high salary.
Reality at my own company shows that the profiles of hundreds of bachelors are "frozen" while CVs of vocational school graduates are always in high demand. Even groups of workers learning short-term vocational skills from 6-9 months in new technology fields can have jobs immediately with an income of 15 million VND/month or more - a dream number for many office workers," Mr. Tu affirmed.
Emerging "gold mines" of new careers
Mr. Vu Quang Thanh - Deputy Director of Hanoi Employment Service Center said that the technology storm and the shift to a green economy have created an unprecedented thirst for technical human resources. Right in Hanoi City, the number of students registering for short-term vocational courses has increased by about 20% compared to the same period last year.
In 2026, businesses will no longer ask you what degree you have, they will ask you what you can do. The explosion of electric cars, renewable energy and smart manufacturing requires technicians with real-world skills and understanding of modern equipment rather than those who simply grasp empty theory," Mr. Thanh said.
According to Mr. Thanh, actual records show that there are 3 "short-term" occupational groups dominating the salary scale of young workers today.

Electric vehicle (EV) repair technician: With the Government's green transformation roadmap, the number of electric vehicles in circulation in 2026 has increased many times. However, traditional car repairmen cannot touch the complex battery and circuit board systems of EV without formal training. A 6-month in-depth course on electrical transmission systems and battery management can help a new graduate achieve a starting salary of 18 million VND/month. Large service workshops are always in a "red-eyed" situation looking for high-voltage electricians.
Operation and maintenance of industrial 3D printers: Additive manufacturing (3D printing) has become an indispensable part of medical and aviation component manufacturing plants in Vietnam. The 3D printer operation profession does not require 4 years of university but requires meticulousness and the ability to read and understand digital drawings. After a short-term course, technicians can receive a salary of 15-22 million VND/month, depending on the complexity of the product.
Installing and maintaining rooftop solar power: When buildings and factories simultaneously install renewable energy systems, the solar power technician profession requires health and knowledge of electrical safety, but in return, the income is very stable and the opportunity for part-time work is extremely open.
