On the morning of March 27, Steering Committee 35 of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, central mass organizations and the Party Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a Conference to improve the quality of political theory, knowledge, professional expertise, and digital skills associated with protecting the ideological foundation of the Party in 2026.
At the Conference, Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper Nguyen Duc Thanh exchanged papers with the theme "Some solutions to improve the quality of digital media publications on Lao Dong Newspaper in the work of protecting the ideological foundation of the Party".
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh, as one of the key press agencies of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization, Lao Dong Newspaper has been actively innovating content and transmission methods, gradually affirming its pioneering role on the information - ideological front in the digital age.
Exchanging about practice at Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said that the newspaper diversified digital journalism products, developing many modern formats such as: Longform, mega story, video; Infographic, Podcast, seminar. These products help official information become more lively and accessible.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh also emphasized the content of linking political opinion with the lives of workers, putting workers at the center, combining reflection of reality and policy analysis.
Along with that, proactively participate in the fight in cyberspace, promptly clarify false information related to policies, provide official information from functional agencies, and analyze and refute based on grounds.
The flexible but persistent approach helps orient public opinion effectively, avoiding extremism. Many articles reach hundreds of thousands to millions of accesses, creating a positive social effect. This shows that if the content is correct, accurate and close, the mainstream press can completely lead public opinion" - Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh shared.
Regarding some solutions to improve the quality of digital media publications, Mr. Nguyen Duc Thanh said that in the coming time, Lao Dong Newspaper will continue to innovate political content in an attractive and accessible direction, in the direction of reducing slogans, increasing analysis and evidence. Use close language, with storytelling elements. Link policies with life stories... This solution is for readers, especially workers and laborers, to easily absorb and access policies and guidelines.
In addition, continue to strongly develop digital media formats: short videos, infographics, podcasts; Multimedia Longform; Interactive products to increase the ability to spread on digital platforms, "ship" information directly to readers.
Building a fast information response mechanism to play a leading role in information such as closely monitoring developments on social networks; proactively providing official information; coordinating between departments for quick handling.
Along with that, improve the capacity of the team of digital journalists; Apply technology and artificial intelligence to analyze reader behavior, optimize content distribution; support multilingual production, strengthen presence on social networks.
The Standing Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Lao Dong Newspaper also mentioned the requirement to maintain political bravery and professional ethics, focusing on the following factors: Firm stance; truthful and objective information; not chasing sensationalism and view-baiting. This is considered the core foundation.
Proactively "going one step ahead" in orienting public opinion
Also at the conference, Colonel Le Ngoc Long - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper (QĐND) - also exchanged experiences in deploying the work of fighting to protect the ideological foundation of the Party, refuting the wrong and hostile views of the QĐND Newspaper.
According to Mr. Long, the struggle to protect the Party's ideological foundation is a central and consistent task, closely linked to the functions of the key and multimedia press agency of the Party, State, and Ministry of National Defense.
Regarding the approach, Colonel Le Ngoc Long discussed the synchronous implementation of many solutions on QĐND Newspaper such as: Building a system of in-depth, stable, and branded columns in both print and electronic newspapers; combining many genres: political commentary, commentary, skits, videos, podcasts... creating attraction and spread.
