As one of the typical examples praised by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, the story of Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dien - a worker at Box-Pak Vietnam Co., Ltd. (HCMC) shows that studying Uncle Ho is concretized by overcoming difficulties, lifelong learning spirit and aspiration to live a useful life.
After a workplace accident causing 85% injury, sometimes falling into a deadlock, Mr. Dien regained his will to live from simple stories about Uncle Ho. He chose to learn graphic design suitable for his health, constantly striving to be better every day than yesterday, continuing to work and contribute.
The aspiration to contribute of union members and workers when learning from Uncle Ho is also clearly expressed in emulation movements.
According to the VGCL, emulation movements are being implemented in association with the content of studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, gradually shifting from formality to focusing on practical efficiency. Commendation is being implemented step by step in a public and timely manner, strongly towards grassroots levels and direct workers.
Many models associated with promoting initiatives and technical improvements have been widely deployed, typically such as the programs "1 million initiatives", "75 thousand initiatives", the movement "Good labor, Creative labor" launched by trade union levels at appropriate times. In some specific industries such as Railways or Coal - Minerals, models such as "Model units", "Safe - productive - disciplined production shifts" have contributed to training industrial style and raising sense of responsibility in labor.
Learning and following are closely combined
Reality shows that studying and following Uncle Ho is no longer separate content but has gradually permeated the key tasks of each sector, locality, agency, unit, and enterprise. Trade union levels have included the content of studying and following Uncle Ho in the action program to implement the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW of the Politburo; associated with professional tasks and practical requirements of each field.
In the process of implementation, many sectors have proactively linked studying and following Uncle Ho with specific tasks such as administrative reform, improving service quality, ensuring labor safety, and building a cultural working environment. Thereby contributing to improving the operational efficiency of agencies, units, and businesses.
Ho Chi Minh's ideological, moral, and style values are gradually concretized into practical emulation contents, associated with professional tasks, labor, production and work of each agency, unit, and enterprise. The entire trade union system has built and maintained about 10,000 typical models associated with the implementation of political tasks, emulation movements and care for union members and workers; many models are maintained in order, promoting practical effectiveness at the grassroots level.
There are places that focus on building unique cultural values with their own identity such as "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space", "Discipline and Unity", or the spirit of "Doctors are like mothers"; promoting the spirit of responsibility, labor discipline and professional ethics in the workforce...
One of the experiences drawn by the Trade Union organization through 5-year implementation practice is to link studying and following Uncle Ho with the essential interests of union members and workers; taking the effectiveness of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers as an important measure.
In the past 5 years, trade union levels have commended and rewarded nearly 96,000 individuals and nearly 30,000 collectives with outstanding achievements in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, contributing to spreading positive values, creating motivation for emulation among union members, workers and the entire trade union system.
