Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Kha Van Tam - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor - said that since 2012, the Central Party Secretariat has concluded to take May every year as Workers' Month. For more than 10 years, every historic May, trade unions at all levels, especially in the working class, have eagerly awaited and competed enthusiastically with many practical and meaningful activities to care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Promoting the tradition of "leading up" of Truong Thi - Ben Thuy workers, in recent years, the emulation movement among Nghe An workers has been widely implemented by trade unions at all levels, attracting a large number of union members and workers to respond, contributing significantly to the successful implementation of the province's socio-economic development goals.
The annual Workers' Month has truly become a big festival for workers in the whole province, with many activities aimed at workers, receiving deep attention from Party committees at all levels, authorities and employers.
This year, trade unions at all levels organized Workers' Month 2025 in a special context: the entire political system is actively carrying out the revolution of streamlining the apparatus, while celebrating many important events of the country.
Following the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the 2025 working month with the theme "Vietnamese workers: Pioneering in the new era", continuing to affirm the pioneering role and great contributions of the working class in the cause of national liberation, building and defending the Fatherland; At the same time, affirming the role of workers in the period of innovation, creativity and international integration.
This theme will be implemented through many specific and practical activities such as: the program "Creative workers, firmly entering the new era"; propaganda, mobilization of union members and workers to study, improve their skills, cultivate political courage, innovate working style, improve integration skills; organize "Creative Labor Festival", contests to propose ideas, initiatives, and technical solutions to innovate production processes, save raw materials, improve labor efficiency...
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor awarded support to build 27 "Union Shelters", each worth 50 million VND, with a total cost of more than 1.3 billion VND; presented 107 gifts with a total value of 127 million VND to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who have had work-related accidents; organized health care examinations and consultations, and provided free medicine to more than 400 workers.
At the program, about 1,000 union members and workers also participated in many exciting activities such as: performing folk dances to celebrate major holidays; promoting the improvement of knowledge and skills on occupational safety and hygiene, nutrition and health care.
