Thousands of workers are supported
Not only stopping at gifts or financial support, Workers' Month and Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in 2026 in Dong Thap are marked by many practical activities to care for union members and workers (NLĐ).
According to Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh - Standing Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation - the total budget mobilized for care activities reached more than 10.7 billion VND, supporting 117,123 turns of union members and workers. Of which, 273 union members with dangerous diseases or work accidents were supported with more than 423 million VND. Trade union levels also socialized over 3.7 billion VND to visit and subsidize 22,445 turns of workers in difficult circumstances.
The concern is also extended to worker families when 7,598 children of union members were given gifts on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1st with a total budget of more than 1 billion VND. The highlight of the care program continues to be "Trade Union Homes".
During Workers' Month, the Provincial Labor Federation supported the construction of 6 houses, and grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) mobilized an additional 10 houses (7 Trade Union Warm Houses and 3 Compassionate Houses), helping many families of workers realize their dream of settling down.
In addition, 78 "Trade Union Meals" and "Thank you NLĐ" programs have served nearly 55,000 workers, contributing to improving the quality of lunch meals and increasing the connection between businesses and employees.
Health care activities are also focused on with 6 programs of medical examination, screening, and free medicine distribution for more than 1,500 workers, along with the "Meaningful Market" model to support 200 poor households.
Dialogue to protect workers' rights
In parallel with care work, Dong Thap Trade Union levels focus on promoting the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members through dialogue and supervision of labor law enforcement.
During the peak period, the whole province organized 54 dialogue forums between the government, businesses and workers, attracting more than 35,500 workers to participate. Through dialogues, 136 opinions and recommendations related to labor contracts, social insurance, occupational safety and health, meals, working hours and administrative procedures have been resolved or transferred to competent authorities for handling.

Along with that, the trade union coordinated to inspect 64 enterprises, discovering 102 cases of not fully implementing regulations on OSH. Through this, it is requested to promptly rectify to ensure a safe working environment for workers.
Building a strong Trade Union organization
During Workers' Month, Dong Thap established 11 new grassroots trade unions, admitting 1,209 union members. Since the beginning of the year, the whole province has established 13 grassroots trade unions, completing 100% of the target; developing 13,282 union members, exceeding 66.41% of the plan.
Notably, the "CORE Trade Union Cadre" Club model was established in 3 industrial parks: Tan Huong, Long Giang and Sa Dec with 113 members, becoming a force to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers right from the grassroots level, contributing to limiting labor disputes and collective work stoppages.

The creative labor emulation movement continues to spread when 12.6% of union members and workers participate in proposing initiatives, of which more than 52% of initiatives have been applied in production practice, contributing to improving the productivity and operational efficiency of enterprises.
The atmosphere of Workers' Month is also stirred up by many cultural and sports activities, typically the 2026 Workers' Football Tournament with 30 participating teams; the XXVI OSH - Fire Prevention and Fighting Contest and hundreds of cultural and sports activities at the grassroots level.
According to Mr. Hoang Khac Tinh, the results achieved in Workers' Month and Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health in 2026 continue to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for, representing and protecting workers.
From full meals, meaningful homes to dialogues for legitimate rights, activities have contributed to building harmonious and stable labor relations, creating motivation for workers to feel secure in sticking with businesses and accompanying the development of the locality.
