On November 5, the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) said that the unit is stepping up direction and guidance for trade unions at all levels to survey and grasp the current situation and housing needs of union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
This activity aims to effectively implement the program to support the construction of "Union Shelter" houses in the province.
Ms. Le Thi Bich Phuong (born in 1975), a member of the Ninh Hoa Medical Center Trade Union, is one of the cases that has just received a support of 60 million VND to build a house.
As the main breadwinner who takes care of her children and takes care of her elderly mother, Ms. Phuong has had to live with her mother for many years in a cramped, dilapidated level 4 house that is in the area of land acquisition to serve the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project.
When she learned that there was a source of support from the "Union Shelter" Fund, Ms. Phuong boldly submitted a request for help. With the guidance and support of the grassroots union and the Provincial Federation of Labor, she has built a spacious level 4 house with an area of 75m2, brick walls, flat roof, tiled floor, and aluminum doors.
Last October, the Provincial Federation of Labor accepted and handed over the house to Ms. Phuong - realizing her dream of settling down after many years of hardship.
According to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, along with mobilizing union members to contribute, trade unions at all levels have innovated methods of calling on organizations and individuals to join hands to support union members in difficult housing.
In the 2023-2025 period, the whole province has supported the construction of 81 new houses and repaired 40 houses for union members, with a total cost of more than 5.43 billion VND.
The "Khanh Hoa Trade Union Shelter" program is spreading more and more, contributing to helping union members and workers stabilize their lives. Thereby, strengthening the trust and affection of workers towards the Trade Union organization.
