Because of love
Teacher Tran Lan Phuong was born and raised in her hometown Ha Nam. In 2003, after graduating from the pedagogical department, she chose Da Bac district as her starting place of work. After more than 20 years of working and holding many positions, Ms. Phuong has considered this mountainous district as her second hometown to be attached to.
Recalling her early days at work, Ms. Phuong shared: “At first, the salary was low, the nature of the preschool teacher’s job was hard and did not meet the needs of life, and I had to depend a lot on my family. However, with the encouragement and understanding of my family, the conversations and sharing with colleagues, and the joy of going to school with children in the highlands, I was determined to pursue this career.”
According to Ms. Phuong, the highland areas, where most of the students are ethnic minorities, are still facing many economic difficulties. The situation of students not being able to go to school at the right age is common. With their love for the profession, teachers have crossed mountains, waded through streams, traveled dozens of kilometers to each family to convince parents to let their children go to school.
With her continuous efforts during her work, Ms. Phuong has had many initiatives that have been recognized and highly appreciated. These include: Measures to direct teachers of Tu Ly A Kindergarten to build a child-centered educational environment. Measures to effectively direct the organization of traffic safety seminars in Tu Ly A Kindergarten.

During her work, Ms. Phuong has been trusted by union members in the unit. From the 2019-2021 Trade Union Congress, she was elected as the President of the Trade Union of Hoa Mai Kindergarten (Da Bac town) and continued to hold the position of President of the Trade Union since transferring to Tu Ly A Kindergarten in 2021.
As the President of the Tu Ly A Kindergarten Union, Ms. Phuong and the union have coordinated with the school to ensure the regime and welfare for union members and workers, focusing on protecting legitimate rights, building advanced models and promoting emulation movements in accordance with the reality of union members. Timely rewards and encouragement create motivation for union members to strive to improve their professional qualifications and actively participate in cultural and sports activities.
Up to now, Tu Ly A Kindergarten Union has over 90% of its members recognized as Excellent Union Members, 100% of its female members recognized as Good at School Work - Good at Housework.
Mr. Quan Van Giang - Chairman of the Da Bac District Labor Federation - shared: "Ms. Tran Lan Phuong is a dedicated teacher in teaching, always completing all assigned tasks excellently. Not only is she a shining example in imparting knowledge, but she also has many outstanding contributions in union activities.
With a high sense of responsibility, actively participate in mobilizing and encouraging children to go to school, especially those in difficult circumstances, contributing to creating a more equitable and humane educational environment.
With her tireless contributions, for many consecutive years, Ms. Tran Lan Phuong has achieved the title of advanced worker; grassroots emulation fighter; Certificate of Merit from the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province for her outstanding achievements in education and training in 2022.
