Ms. Trinh Hoai Phuong (22 years old, Cao Bang) started working at Luxshare Bac Giang Company in February this year. Ms. Phuong said that as soon as the labor contract was signed, the company introduced her to the Noi Hoang workers' housing area (Bac Giang City). "The room rental cost is about 500,000 VND/month, this amount has been supported by the company. The guaranteed living and security conditions are very suitable for the needs of young workers like us" - Ms. Phuong informed.
Similarly, Mr. Luong Van Hung (Tuyen Quang) shared that he had moved to this housing area for 8 months, right after arriving in Bac Giang to work. "Here, there will be air conditioners in the summer, hot water to use in the winter, and even a washing machine, with full amenities like when at home. When I was here, the company supported me with 500,000 VND for housing, so I did not lose any more money, said Mr. Hung.
According to Mr. Hung, if other workers living away from the company will have to face traffic jams every morning, then when here, workers only need to walk for about 7 - 10 minutes to get to work, or have a company car to pick them up. Ensured security is also the reason why many workers choose to live in workers' housing areas.
Previously, workers had to spend 1.5 - 1.8 million VND per month on rent and electricity and water, so they could not save much. However, since moving into the workers' housing area, they have accumulated more.
According to the reporter's investigation, the social housing area for workers (workers' housing) in Noi Hoang ward (Bac Giang city) is invested by the joint venture of Fuji Bac Giang Development Joint Stock Company - Vinaco Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company. The project has a total investment of 1.2 trillion VND, a scale of 5.8 hectares, building 10 buildings with 2,802 apartments, of which more than 2,400 apartments are for workers to rent.
The housing area is located near many large industrial parks in Bac Giang, after more than 1 year of operation, about 2,700 workers have come to rent and live there. On the first floor of the project, a parking area of over 5,000m2, a community center of 1,400m2 and a commercial service area and kitchen of over 6,000m2 are arranged.
From the 2nd floor and above, the project arranges rooms in a dormitory form, each room area is about 30m2; accommodation for 2 to 4 people. The rooms are conditioned and cleaned with hot, cold bathtubs and washing machines.
Determined to quench the thirst for workers' housing
Talking to reporters of Lao Dong Newspaper, the project investor representative said that the housing area can accommodate a maximum of 10,000 workers.
"Currently, there are many applications from workers who wish to rent in this social housing area. We are continuing to review to submit to the Department of Construction for appraisal and approval of the rental list soon" - the investor's representative added.
According to the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Bac Giang province, the locality has nearly 200,000 workers working in industrial parks, including more than 70,000 workers from other provinces.
The housing demand for out-of-province workers working in Bac Giang is very urgent. They mainly live in boarding houses near industrial parks. Therefore, the development of workers' housing projects will contribute to ensuring social security and promoting sustainable economic development.
According to the Department of Construction of Bac Giang province, in the period of 2021-2024, the whole province will complete nearly 4,700 apartments. In 2025 alone, Bac Giang province has licensed 5 projects. Currently, the authorities are coordinating and speeding up the progress of the unfinished project to complete the set goals, creating conditions for workers to "set up a business", increasing attractiveness in attracting investment.
