According to a report from Dong Thap Provincial Police, as of October 2025, the whole province has 3,923 employers who are late in paying insurance, such as social insurance, health insurance... with a total amount of more than 257 billion VND. This not only affects compliance with the law, but also directly affects the rights of workers, affecting social security policies in the locality. Especially complicating social security and order.
It is known that from the beginning of 2025 to now, there have been 7 collective work stoppages in the province with about more than 2,000 workers participating. The main reason comes from questions about policies. These cases have all been detected and resolved promptly.
It is known that previously, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor (DOLF) held a conference to find solutions to limit the situation of insurance debts in the area.
Here, delegates said that, besides some units and enterprises that are really facing difficulties due to reduced orders... there are still cases of intentional violations. Meanwhile, a part of workers have not yet recognized their role, rights, and responsibilities when participating in insurance.
On the other hand, there are still legal gaps in the regulation on final settlement of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance debts that are difficult to collect for business owners who employ workers who are no longer active or "missing".
