The conference was organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) in Can Tho City with the participation of delegates who are Standing Committee members, officials working in the organization and inspection of provincial and municipal labor federations, central industry unions and equivalent in the Southern region.
Speaking at the opening of the Conference, Vice Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung said that the Rules of Vietnam Trade Union Session XIII was approved by the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Congress on January 3, 2023. Immediately after the Congress, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor took the initiative to improve the Charter to submit to the competent authority for approval. On August 14, 2024, the Central Office issued Document No. 10897 - CV/VPTW informing the opinion of the Party Central Committee Secretariat on the promulgation of the Vietnam Trade Union Regulation Session XIII.
On December 25, 2024, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued Decision No. 2399/QD-TLD, promulgating the Regulation of Vietnam Trade Union Session XIII. Based on the contents of the regulations of the Charter, on December 27, 2024, the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor issued guidance No. 38/HD-TLD, guiding the implementation of the Vietnam Trade Union Charter.
The dissemination of the 13th Vietnam Trade Union Charter to all levels of trade unions needs to be seriously implemented.
At this conference, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor proposed the delegates to spend time researching, exchanging and understanding the issues specified in the Regulation of Vietnam Trade Union Session XIII to implement and apply the spirit of the charter in the organization and union activities; Promote the renovation of union activities and methods in the new situation.
At the same time, reflect the difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process so that the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor can absorb, study and supplement in accordance with the practical situation.
Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Xuan Hung also asked the reporters to focus on clearly presenting the key contents and new points in the Charter; the requirements, implementation roadmap and solutions to effectively and practically implement the Charter.
