The 13th Group-level Skilled Worker Contest, in 2026, has 29 units with 501 contestants participating. These are excellent contestants selected from the grassroots level contest. Previously, 31 units of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) organized a grassroots level contest with 50 occupations attracting over 2,500 technical workers to participate.
Contestants will compete in 27 occupations according to job positions, belonging to 6 typical occupation groups including: Underground mining, open-pit mining, mechanics, mineral mining, power plant operation and metallurgy. This is also the first time metallurgy has been included in TKV's skilled workers contest, in order to meet TKV's development requirements.
TKV's Group-level Skilled Worker Contest is held periodically every 3 years. This is a major festival to honor workers, arouse the spirit of learning, creativity, practicing professional skills, promoting initiatives, technical improvements, contributing to improving labor productivity, product quality, ensuring safety in production, and promoting the emulation movement "Mastering theory - Practicing skills - Skilled Worker Contest" throughout the Group.
Many contestants who achieved high results in the competitions have become master craftsmen, experts or have been appointed as production commanding officers at the construction site and workshop levels, and many have become business managers.
According to TKV, in the period when the country is transforming, the process of digital transformation, mechanization, automation and green and clean environmental development is taking place strongly, the requirements for productivity, quality, safety and environmental protection are increasingly high, so building high-quality human resources is the most valuable asset and the decisive factor for the Group's competitiveness, production and business efficiency and sustainable development.
Therefore, TKV always identifies developing a team of technical workers as one of the key tasks, which is very important in training and developing the Group's human resources.
Each worker not only needs to be skilled in the profession but also must have innovative thinking, the ability to master technology, discipline, industrial style and a constantly learning spirit to adapt to the increasing development requirements of the group.
