This is a major sports event of Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) towards celebrating the 90th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Workers of the Mining Region - Tradition of the Coal Industry (November 12, 1936 – November 12, 1926); it is an opportunity to show the strength, spirit of solidarity, determination and outstanding results of the mass physical education and sports movement throughout the Corporation.
The Congress contributes to improving the spiritual and cultural life, training the health of workers, building quality human resources, meeting the development requirements of TKV in the new period.
Attending the Opening Ceremony were leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, departments and agencies of Quang Ninh province; the Executive Board of the Group, the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited, leaders of subsidiaries and units directly under TKV, along with more than 560 athletes, referees and a large number of officials, workers, and laborers of the Group.
The opening ceremony was solemnly organized, with 4 main content parts, including a parade to show off the strength of athlete delegations from subsidiaries and affiliated units of TKV, showing a vibrant emulation spirit, solidarity, traditional pride and determination to conquer high achievements at the Congress.
The ceremony part of the Opening Ceremony began with the torch-lighting ceremony of the Congress Fireplace. The Fire of the Congress was taken from the Memorial 12.11, Materials - TKV Joint Stock Company - an immortal red address symbolizing the spirit of "Discipline and Unity" of the working class of the Mining Region; then it was received by the Group's leaders and the torch was awarded to the athletes at the Statue of Glory of Mine Workers, 12/11 Square to perform the torch relay ceremony to the Cultural and Sports House of Workers of Nui Beo Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Long ward and was lit by the Group's leaders to light the fireplace of the Congress at the opening ceremony, showing the continuation of tradition, fostering will, aspiration to rise up, sports spirit and belief in victory of TKV officials, workers, and laborers.
Along with the ceremony part, the art program to welcome the Opening Ceremony of the Congress with the theme "Discipline and Unity - Steadfastly Moving into a New Era" was elaborately staged, combining stage art, images, music and modern sports performances, towards the journey of construction and development of TKV, honoring the glorious tradition of the working class of the Mining Region, spreading the image of brave and creative miners. Thereby, contributing to creating a joyful and heroic atmosphere, strongly encouraging the spirit of labor production emulation and physical training throughout the Group.
Immediately after the welcoming art program, a lively and attractive women's volleyball match took place between the two women's volleyball teams of Nam Mau Coal Company and Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company.
Within the framework of the Congress, from July 11-16, 2026, TKV will organize the final round of the 2026 TKV Amateur Badminton and Table Tennis Tournament at the Workers' House of Ha Lam Coal Joint Stock Company, Ha Lam ward.
From July 21-31, 2026, at Cua Ong Stadium, TKV will organize the 2026 TKV Amateur Men's Football Tournament; opening ceremony at 3:30 PM on July 21st.
