Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Le Van Nghia - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Manh Kien - Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament; Mr. Le An Hai - Chairman of the Vietnam Trade and Industry Union; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Rector of Ton Duc Thang University.
The Southern qualifying round of the 2026 Vietnam Workers and Civil Servants Football Tournament takes place from June 7 to 10, with the participation of 24 teams, divided into 6 groups.
According to the draw results, Group A includes: Vietnam Railway Trade Union, Gia Lai Trade Union, Tay Ninh 2 Trade Union, Can Tho Trade Union. Group B includes: Thanh Thang Thang Long HCMC Trade Union, Dong Nai 2 Trade Union, Long An International Port, Electricity Trade Union.
Group C includes: Vinh Long Trade Union, Vietnam Industry and Trade Union 2, Sacombank, Da Nang Trade Union. Group D includes: Paiho Trade Union HCMC, Dong Nai Trade Union 4, Lam Dong Trade Union, Quang Ngai Trade Union.

Group E includes: Southern Petroleum Construction Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Trade Union 1, Sawaco, Vietnam Rubber Trade Union. Group F includes: Biwase Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai Trade Union 3, Tay Ninh Trade Union 1, Dong Thap Trade Union.
According to regulations, the top 6 teams and 2 second-placed teams with the best results win tickets to the quarter-finals. 8 teams entering the quarter-finals also win tickets to the national finals, expected to be held in July 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City.
Before the opening ceremony, the qualifying round of the tournament took place in the first and second matches of some groups. According to records, the level of the teams this year is quite balanced, and the competitiveness has been clearly improved.
Previously, the Northern regional qualifiers taking place from May 21 to 24 helped determine the first 8 teams to participate in the national finals. The last 8 teams will be revealed after the group stage of the Southern regional qualifiers closes.
This is the 4th year that the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor has coordinated with Tuoi Tre newspaper and the Vietnam Football Federation to organize the worker and civil servant football tournament. Over the years, the tournament has become a festival for workers, helping workers have a true playground, physical training and relaxation moments.
The 2026 tournament has 48 participating teams, with a total prize value of 900 million VND, of which the national champion team receives 200 million VND.
