On the morning of March 13, at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Area (Cam Lam District), the Standing Committee of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the officers and soldiers on the occasion of the 37th anniversary of the battle to protect the island of Gac Ma - Truong Sa archipelago of the Fatherland.

Attending the incense offering and memorial ceremony were Mr. Dang Ngoc Tung - Former President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and full-time union officials in the whole province.
37 years ago, on March 14, 1988, 64 soldiers of the Vietnam Navy fought steadfastly and sacrificed to protect the sacred sovereignty of the Fatherland to bring peace to the country.
The heroic sacrifice of you has always been remembered by our Party, State and people forever.

To commemorate the 64 officers and soldiers of the Navy who heroically sacrificed and forever remained in the open ocean, today, at the Gac Ma Soldiers Memorial Site, with respect and deep gratitude, generations of leaders and union officers together lit incense to commemorate and show gratitude to the heroes and martyrs.

With respect, the delegates observed a minute of silence and offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the "Those who lie at the chan reason".
On March 13, 2015, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held a ceremony to lay the first stone for the construction of the Gac Ma memorial site located on the coast of the northern tourist area of Cam Ranh peninsula, Khanh Hoa (now Cam Hai Dong commune, Cam Lam district).
Among the many locations chosen to set up the memorial area, this is a place especially close to Cam Ranh Military Port - where soldiers were tasked with setting out to build and protect the Truong Sa island district.
After more than 2 years of racing at the same time, in July 2017, the inauguration ceremony of the memorial site was solemnly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, and the Golden Heart Social and Cultural Fund. And that was also the first time relatives of 64 martyrs who died in the 1988 Guo Ma battle gathered.
