Accordingly, singer Bich Tuyen's husband, billionaire Gerard Richard Williams III, and singer Dam Vinh Hung authorized their lawyer to debate in the trial on July 7. At the debate session, Dam Vinh Hung's representative had 1 lawyer participating, while Bich Tuyen's husband had 2 lawyers.
At the trial, the lawyer representing Bich Tuyen's husband questioned Dam Vinh Hung's request to withdraw the lawsuit in December 2024; after that, Dam Vinh Hung changed his mind and wanted to continue pursuing the lawsuit with singer Bich Tuyen's husband.
The lawyer representing Bich Tuyen's husband said that the US court's failure to record Dam Vinh Hung's initial lawsuit withdrawal was unprecedented.
While the lawyer representing Dam Vinh Hung affirmed that there were errors and incorrect procedures in the male singer's initial lawsuit withdrawal and later decided to file a lawsuit back, it was not wrong.
According to the lawyer representing Bich Tuyen's husband, this was not a mistake, they cited Dam Vinh Hung's post on his personal page about her withdrawal of the lawsuit against Bich Tuyen's husband on December 4, 2024, and affirmed that there was no reason for Dam Vinh Hung to be limited to English.
After that, the lawyer representing singer Bich Tuyen's husband asked the court to recognize Dam Vinh Hung's request to cancel the lawsuit.
Currently, the two sides are waiting for the US court to issue a verdict for the July 7 trial.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that according to Dam Vinh Hung's oath ( sent to the Supreme Court of California, USA on June 23), the male singer said that Bich Tuyen and her husband were manipulating psychology, wanting him to stop the lawsuit.
Dam Vinh Hung revealed that last year, after he filed the lawsuit, Bich Tuyen and a few of her close friends invited him to dinner at their house in Newport Beach, California. They then invited him to their home and urged him to settle the lawsuit.
He also shared that Bich Tuyen and her husband have made many threats to him such as reporting him to the Tax Department, the Department of Migration, and expanding social media campaigns to harm his reputation.
Singer Dam Vinh Hung also said that Bich Tuyen and her husband manipulated their psychology to escape the lawsuit without having to compensate or negotiate.
Therefore, he suggested that the Court reject the defendant's request (ie Bich Tuyen and her husband) and continue the lawsuit to be able to protect their legal rights.
However, singer Bich Tuyen later responded and thought that the male singer was dishonest. She denied that she and her billionaire husband manipulated and threatened Dam Vinh Hung.
