Immediate action, mobilizing "huge" resources
Faced with the problem of consolidating the apparatus, the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) chose to act immediately.
“All review procedures are being carried out urgently with the core principle: Compact but must be close to the grassroots and clear to each union member” - Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairwoman of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation - shared.
This proactiveness has brought "sweet fruits" right in the early days of transformation. By mobilizing the combined strength from the government and the business community, the Dong Thap Trade Union has created resources of up to more than 91 billion VND. This capital flow was immediately pumped into Tet care programs, support for difficult circumstances and a series of "Union member welfare" activities.
According to Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui, this is not simply material value but a testament to the trust of society. More importantly, it is an affirmation of the ultimate goal: To streamline the organization to serve and bring the most practical benefits to workers (NLĐ).
Strategic pivot: Taking precaution as a foundation
One of the highlights of the Dong Thap Provincial Trade Union after the merger is the change in thinking in protecting the rights of union members and workers. Instead of chasing after resolving "hot spots" such as collective work stoppages or disputes over social insurance benefits, the Trade Union organization has completely shifted to a remote prevention mindset.
According to Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui, to do this, the role of grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) is comprehensively upgraded, turning each Trade Union official into a bargaining and labor relations forecasting expert. Accordingly, CĐCS proactively "hold the helm" in building collective labor agreements, maintaining flexible dialogue and applying digital technology to receive immediate feedback. These steps are gradually establishing a harmonious working environment, where businesses are assured of production and employees trust and contribute.
A prominent highlight brought by Dong Thap to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress is the model of 91 self-managed worker boarding houses. Not stopping at providing each individual with a place to rest after working hours, these boarding houses have been "souled" to become a common home. Under the proactive and harmonious coordination between the Trade Union, government and landlords, self-managed groups were born, helping to maintain cultural lifestyles, disseminate laws and push back social evils.
The image of Trade Union officials bringing "Workers' Market", free medical services or scholarships to the dormitory yard has become familiar. This is a direct approach, bringing the Trade Union organization to touch the smallest corners of the lives of workers far from home.
Not only solving current problems, Dong Thap Trade Union is focusing its efforts on the 5-year vision in the context of a green economy and digital transformation.
The unit identifies upgrading the labor force as a vital factor. Through programs in coordination with businesses and training institutions, workers are being given momentum to equip themselves with digital skills, foreign languages and cultivate industrial style.
With the close companionship of the Trade Union organization, Dong Thap workers are proactively adapting to market changes, continuing to be the core force in local development.
