Difficult workers have Trade Unions
Workers' Month 2026 in An Giang is vibrant with many practical activities to care for union members and workers. The Provincial Labor Federation has directed trade union levels to focus resources on timely supporting difficult cases, suffering from dangerous diseases, labor accidents, and occupational diseases; the provincial level alone supported nearly 2,300 scholarships.
From the beginning of 2026 to now, the Provincial Labor Federation has cared for and supported nearly 15,000 turns of union members and workers with a total budget of nearly 15 billion VND, continuing to affirm the role of protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
In the activities of visiting and giving gifts, leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation cordially inquired about jobs, income, and lives of workers; and at the same time acknowledged the cooperation of businesses in caring for life and building harmonious and stable labor relations.
Through visits, many union members in difficult circumstances shared that the support of the Trade Union has helped them overcome the difficult period. Mr. Luu Hoang Trung - a member of the Ha Tien Bicycle Union - said that his family is in difficulty, and his wife has to have regular dialysis.
“I drive a rickshaw, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, but luckily the Trade Union regularly cares for and supports me. My family has 3 children, 2 young children are still in school, 1 older child is supported by the Trade Union to go to work abroad in Japan, so life reduces the economic burden” - Mr. Trung shared.
Ms. Duong Thi Truyen - Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Trung Son Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company - said that the unit has Ms. Chau Thanh Thao, a production worker, who unfortunately suffered from a serious illness. The grassroots trade union has mobilized and supported more than 14 million VND and presented gifts to this union member during Workers' Month. Currently, Ms. Thao has been discharged from the hospital and is being cared for at home; the company also creates conditions for her to rest and recover before returning to work.
Workers open up to share
Recently, the Trade Union of Hwaseung Rach Gia Co., Ltd. (in An Giang) organized the award ceremony of the "Workers Tell Stories" Contest.
Ms. Ton Nu My Hanh - Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union - said that the contest is a prominent activity in Workers' Month, creating many emotions through simple, truthful stories of workers in an environment of more than 6,000 workers. Without theatricalization, without fussy forms, many workers for the first time hold pens to write about their lives but have brought stories that touch the hearts of readers.
Ms. Ton Nu My Hanh expressed: "The biggest success of the contest does not lie in the number of works but in the fact that workers have boldly opened their hearts and shared their true feelings. Through each story, the Trade Union understands more perspectives on dreams, living conditions, will to rise up and even the pressures that workers are facing every day. This is also an important basis for the Trade Union and businesses to have better companionship and sharing with workers.
Mr. Pham Van Dang - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation - said that the "Workers Tell Stories" contest is a typical, deep and emotional activity in this year's Workers' Month. What is precious is that workers are listened to, share their thoughts and true feelings through everyday stories full of willpower, responsibility and humanity.
Chairman of An Giang Provincial Labor Federation Do Tran Thinh said that in the past time, the Provincial Trade Union has constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, strongly oriented towards grassroots levels, and paid more practical attention to the lives of union members and workers.
Many timely support programs have helped workers overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives. Emulation movements, especially "Good Labor, Creative Labor", have been widely implemented, contributing to improving productivity and production and business efficiency.
