After a series of articles reflecting "School health workers feel sorry for being abandoned" by Lao Dong Newspaper, the collective of school health workers (CHWs) in Tay Son district (Binh Dinh) has been paid preferential allowances according to the profession according to Decree No. 56/2011/ND-CP dated July 4, 2011 of the Government.
Accordingly, all 44 schools in Tay Son district have completed the payment of preferential allowances to 44 employees with staff, the payment period is from January 1, 2024, with a total amount of nearly 500 million VND.
After nearly ten years of tirelessly petitioning for benefits, the settlement of the regime this time has made the Tay Son District Health Center community unable to hide their joy and emotions.
However, that joy is not yet complete, because their allowances have only been paid since the beginning of 2024, while according to Decree 56, they have enjoyed this regime since 2011. For more than a decade, the regime has been forgotten, making them feel heartbroken and disappointed.

For the past 8 months since receiving a part of the regime, the Tay Son District Health Center has maintained hope that all levels and sectors will continue to intervene to resolve the problem of receiving the neglected regime of many years ago. However, they fell into a state of despair once again.
The concern is growing as in just a few days, the district-level government in Binh Dinh province will officially cease operations to serve the merger of administrative units with Gia Lai province. In this context, they cannot help but wonder: "Where will we go, who will we find to continue to demand legitimate rights?"
Faced with such concerns, Mr. Lam Hai Giang - Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee - said that after the newspaper's reflection, the province has strongly directed and implemented the payment of benefits to health workers in Tay Son district and Tuy Phuoc district. However, the collection of preferential allowances from previous years is still stuck in the guidance of the Department of Finance.
"The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to urgently review and issue specific guidance documents for localities to implement. The merger of administrative units does not affect the settlement of rights of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.
The current regimes have been resolved. The tracing of previous years is being compiled to ensure funding sources, expected to be completely resolved before June 2025," Mr. Giang affirmed.
Not only the Tay Son District Health Center, but in Tuy Phuoc District, there are also about 20 health workers whose rights are disadvantaged. The total amount of benefits they are still owed is estimated at nearly 1.2 billion VND.
