On August 22, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Member of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, President of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - led a delegation to visit, work and attend a Union Meal with workers at Minh Phu - Hau Giang Seafood Joint Stock Company.
Speaking at the program, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized: "Through the Union Meal, we not only share warm and affectionate meals together, but also strengthen the spirit of solidarity, arouse the interest and sharing between members of the collective, as well as between the Union organization and union members and workers."
Ms. Mai said that in recent times, the City Labor Federation and all levels of the Trade Union have made efforts to implement many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members, workers, civil servants and laborers. The union always hopes that every meal, every job, every caring activity will contribute to improving life, creating more confidence for union members and workers to work with peace of mind, stick with the enterprise and the union organization.
On this occasion, leaders of the Can Tho City Labor Federation and the Trade Union of Minh Phu - Hau Giang Seafood Joint Stock Company presented support to 12 union members and workers in difficulty, each of whom received an interest-free loan of 10 million VND from the Company's Support Fund.
According to the business leaders, the Support Fund was established to care for and support workers in difficult times of life, employment, income, health or natural disasters and disasters. To date, the Fund has supported more than 4.7 billion VND for 474 union members and workers to borrow without interest.
Ms. Chau Thi Bich Lien, a worker at 01 post 1 Dust Processing Agency, emotionally shared: Thanks to the Company's Support Fund and the attention of the Trade Union, she was able to borrow 10 million VND without interest to buy a vehicle to go to work because her house was far from the company. Ms. Lien is currently the main breadwinner in the family, her husband has cervical degeneration and her two children are in high school and high school.
