According to statistics from the authorities, there are at least 5 points of landfill, with more than 4,200 boxes and about 8,000 product sleeves still with stamps and packaging, with a validity period of 2027 - 2028. All of these products belong to many different brands, mainly health support products such as vitamin supplements, minerals, resistance increases, liver detoxification, etc.
Notably, many products are introduced to come from imported ingredients, extracted from natural medicinal herbs such as bird's nest, ginseng, velvet, and are produced in domestic factories.
Previously, the police invited two individuals, T.V.C (34 years old, residing in Tan Kien commune, Binh Chanh district) and T.M.L (32 years old, residing in Phong Phu commune), to work, identified as the ones transporting and receiving the boxes of goods for destruction.
From the statement, the police identified the person who directed the destruction as N.P.S (36 years old, living in District 12), director of a functional food trading company on the e-commerce platform. According to the confession, due to concerns that the shipment could be inspected for suspected violations, S hired people to burn the products instead of handling them according to legal procedures.
However, after checking, the person receiving the destroyed goods found that the goods were still intact, so he had to destroy part of them and then keep the rest. After that, the boxes of goods were stolen at many points along the road.
Currently, Ho Chi Minh City Police have prepared records, assessed the entire shipment, verified the origin, purpose of destruction and investigated violations to handle according to the law.
