After 8 years of working as a freelancer in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung decided to return to his hometown, applying to work as a worker for a garment company only 300m from his house.

After graduating from high school, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung ( Nga Thanh commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa) followed his father to Hanoi to work in civil construction projects. Previously, Mr. Hung's parents had organized a group of construction workers from their hometown to Hanoi for decades to work as small-scale residential houses and construction works.

Mr. Hung worked with his parents for a few years before his parents had to return to their hometown because of family work. Mr. Hung stayed in Hanoi for another 5 years, working all kinds of jobs, from following construction projects, serving restaurants, electronics supermarket staff to sales staff for a paint studio. With an income of about 10 million VND/month, not worried about his wife and children, Mr. Hung also does not have any significant savings.

"The biggest asset when I left Hanoi to return to my hometown was a motorbike I bought in installments from the initial installment of the Tet bonus of the paint company," said Mr. Hung.

Realizing that the freelance work in Hanoi had no future, and his parents urged him to return to his hometown, Mr. Hung decided to return to his hometown.

"What I could not expect after nearly ten years away from home, only occasionally coming home during Tet, was that there were many companies and businesses opening in the area. From garment companies, leather shoes, stuffed animals, plastic processing... Salary is about 7-9 million VND/month. If compared to a job in Hanoi with a salary of more than 10 million VND/month, having to rent a house, and expensive costs, this salary in the countryside is fine, said Mr. Hung.

After returning to his hometown after 1 month, Mr. Hung worked as a garment factory worker, only 300m from his home. He received vocational training for 1 month, basic salary of 5 million VND, not including overtime, allowances, food allowances... Total income is about 7.5 million VND/month. Every month, he has a day off on Saturday and all 4 Sundays.

More importantly, Mr. Hung still cooperates with paint companies and sells goods to houses in villages and communes. This passive income also helps him earn a few million VND more per month.

Mr. Hoang Minh Quang (from Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa) also decided to return to his hometown after 5 years in Hanoi. Graduated from a college of tourism, Mr. Quang worked for 3 travel companies but his life was still unstable. At the end of 2023, after returning home to take care of his mother who was seriously ill, Mr. Quang decided to return home.

After only 1 month of applying for a job, Mr. Quang was hired as a sales staff for a wine processing company in But Son town (Hoang Hoa district, Thanh Hoa). Being talkative and agile, Mr. Quang caught up with the job very quickly and had good sales.

"My hard salary is 4 million VND/month, the income increases in the ratio of revenue. The monthly months of the year, the average income is about 9 million VND/month. Particularly, from the fall is the occasion to organize many weddings to the peak of the Lunar New Year, my income can be up to 25 million VND/month. After less than 2 years back to the countryside, I find my decision to be wise. will.
