Many skills need to be improved
On December 16, Hanoi Employment Service Center organized a job fair on information technology with 1,614 recruitment targets.
Participating in the trading session, Mr. Ma Van Tung - a 3rd year student majoring in Information Technology (Dong A University of Technology) looked at job positions and learned more about the recruitment requirements of businesses.

I have never been on an internship or worked for an information technology company. Today, participating in the job fair, I have a reference to an applied AI course to improve my professional qualifications to serve my work in the future. I think not only me, any IT student, the most important thing to improve is programming skills, logical thinking... to confidently enter the labor market, said Mr. Tung.
In contrast to Mr. Ma Van Tung, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chinh - a 4th year student majoring in Information Technology (Dong A University of Technology) has had internship experience and worked at a number of information technology companies for 6 months. Mr. Chinh believes that proactively planning a career will help him soon access and understand the current labor market.

During my internship, I learned the most from professional experience from my predecessors and communication skills in group work. I realized that I still have many shortcomings. When I graduated, in addition to soft skills, I also had to improve my English at a time when companies required high foreign language proficiency, said Mr. Chinh.
Employers clearly identify young labor skills that need improvement
Directly participating in labor recruitment, Ms. Nguyen Hong Ngoc - representative of AirCloset Engineering Company Limited said that at the session, the company had 4 targets for 2 positions: programmer and testing staff. Because it has only been established in Vietnam for more than a year, the company will mainly recruit candidates and young workers with 4-5 years of experience.
"We prioritize candidates with a lot of experience in the information technology field to get to work right away instead of having to train from the beginning. At the session, we received many students for interviews, but they have not really shown their orientation in work. In addition to professional requirements, the company also requires soft skills, communication skills, exchanges and teamwork of candidates... Most young workers and new graduates do not meet these conditions, Ms. Ngoc added.
As a training unit, Ms. Ho Thi Thu Huyen - representative of FPT Aptech - international programmer training system said that currently, information technology is one of the industries that brings many job opportunities, while also bringing challenges to students.

When I met students who were studying or had just graduated, I realized that they lacked some necessary skills to be able to confidently enter the labor market. First, their practical skills are not many, during their studies at school, students lack the opportunity to rub shoulders and come into contact with real products. Second, soft skills such as communication, teamwork or even writing emails are still awkward. Young workers themselves are not enough to be able to work confidently in enterprises, said Ms. Huyen.
According to Mr. Nguyen Tay Nam - Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs, in the first 11 months of 2025, the whole city has created jobs for 211,608 workers; exceeded the planned target by 22.7%; increased by 0.55% over the same period in 2025.
The job fair on information technology held on December 16 had 53 participating units; 1,614 recruitment and enrollment targets; of which the enrollment demand was 300 targets.
The recruitment target for workers with college and university degrees or higher is 886; for workers with intermediate degrees - technical workers is 515; for unskilled workers is 213 with an income of 5-15 million VND/month.
Employment opportunities are divided into mainly 18-25 age groups with 689 targets; the 26-34 age group with 673 targets, the rest are the 35 and over age group with 252 targets.
