Making a living through Tet
At retail systems, the demand for human resources during Tet is always high. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Ngan (freelance worker in Ninh Kieu ward, Can Tho city) said that when she saw Co.opmart Can Tho supermarket posting recruitment for seasonal workers for Tet, she immediately applied to earn extra income.
I am in charge of supporting goods loading and Tet gift wrapping. My job and income here are quite stable, I also want to be attached for a long time if the supermarket has an official recruitment need later," Ms. Ngan shared.

Staying in Can Tho to work throughout Tet from the 23rd to the 6th, Ms. Dinh Thi Huyen (freelance worker) chose the job of washing dishes for hire at a restaurant. Although it is hard because the working hours last 10 hours a day, in return, her income has increased significantly. On peak days from the 29th to the 2nd day of Tet, she receives 400,000 VND/day and is provided with meals. On the remaining days, the salary is 250,000 VND/day.
After the Tet season, Ms. Huyen estimates that she can earn about 4 million VND (including attendance bonuses): "This amount is more than 2/3 of my monthly income when I work as a waiter at a restaurant near the industrial park. Although I miss home, I still choose to stay to work to have more expenses to take care of my children, hoping that next year I will have enough conditions to return to my hometown to reunite.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Quoc Toan (second-year student, Can Tho University) shared that with the desire to have money to cover expenses for the new semester immediately after Tet, he decided to stay in Can Tho to work as a waiter at a coffee shop. With a salary of 30,000 VND/hour during Tet days (from the 28th to the 3rd) and 20,000 VND/hour on weekdays, Toan can earn about 2 million VND.
Long-term job opportunities
Not only helping to increase immediate income, seasonal jobs also create long-term attachment opportunities for workers with businesses and units that have recruitment needs.
Mr. Luu Chi Bang - Supervisor cum human resources manager of Ca Dao Restaurant (Can Tho City) - said that at the end of the year, the restaurant needs a large number of personnel for positions of serving, serving, mixing... with flexible salaries depending on capacity and a minimum of 18,000 VND/hour. Especially during Tet days, salaries are multiplied according to regulations.
We target students or workers with flexible time. People who work responsibly and have a good attitude will have the opportunity to be kept to work officially after Tet," Mr. Bang said.

Similarly, Ms. Dang Ngoc Uyen Phuong - Deputy Director of Co.opmart Can Tho supermarket - informed that during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the unit has added 30 - 60 seasonal personnel to departments to meet the sudden increase in shopping demand.
Ms. Phuong also emphasized: "For seasonal workers who want to stick with them for a long time, we will keep records. When the unit has official recruitment needs in the following months, we will proactively contact and invite you to work if you meet the conditions.
