According to statistics from the Provincial Federation of Labor, from 2024 to present, the whole province has established nearly 20 grassroots unions in non-state enterprises with 25 or more employees, and formed 3 grassroots unions, admitting over 4,000 new union members.
Notably, in just the first 7 months of 2025, Lang Son has established 7 grassroots unions, admitting more than 400 new union members. This figure is not only completed but also exceeds the annual target (3 grassroots) set by the Provincial Federation of Labor by double. In particular, 2 grassroots trade unions with a total of 121 union members were launched after July 1, after operating under the new organizational model.
The Trade Union of Lang Son Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company was established in March 2025, initially, many workers and laborers were still hesitant and did not clearly understand the role of the Trade Union organization.
However, after the grassroots trade union was established, with the role of representing and protecting the legitimate rights of more than 30 union members and especially the implementation of practical welfare programs and activities in the past Workers' Month, workers have felt more clearly the value of the trade union and feel more secure in working - Ms. Ha Thi Huong, Chairwoman of the grassroots trade union of Lang Son Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Joint Stock Company shared.
To achieve the above results, in recent times, the Provincial Federation of Labor has focused on implementing a series of solutions. The unit develops an annual plan, assigns the target of establishing grassroots trade unions to affiliated trade unions; organizes workshops on "Solutions for developing union members, establishing and improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities in the enterprise sector"; at the same time, sends staff to study and exchange experiences in other provinces such as Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh...
Mr. Luong Chi Cong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Head of the Trade Union Work Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province - affirmed: "Developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, especially in non-state enterprises, is always a key task. The Provincial Federation of Labor constantly innovates, focuses on workers, proactively approaches businesses to mobilize and accompany".
From July 2025, after operating under the new organizational model, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to increase the effectiveness of this work by reviewing and grasping the labor situation in enterprises. For mountainous areas with few enterprises, trade union officials still closely follow and proactively approach as soon as a newly established enterprise is established to support and mobilize workers to participate in the Trade Union organization.
Active approach to businesses, building trust with workers, and flexibly applying many methods have helped the establishment of grassroots trade unions in Lang Son achieve many positive results.
