At the conference, leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation presented a summary report of participants' opinions on the draft Political Report of the 13th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and the draft Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union (amended and supplemented).
Based on the suggested contents, delegates attending the conference focused on exchanging and discussing many issues related to the current practice of trade union activities.
Regarding the draft Political Report, some opinions suggested supplementing the content reflecting the number of union members and workers affected by natural disasters and storms and floods that have been supported, visited, and encouraged promptly by trade union levels in the past time.
Delegates also requested further clarification of the reasons for the sharp decrease in the number of union members after the new model was implemented.
Along with that, many opinions emphasized the need to see more clearly the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the labor market, especially the risk of changing the job structure, increasing the risk of job loss in a part of workers.
Regarding the draft Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union (amended and supplemented), the conference agreed to contribute opinions to supplement the task of "Advising and guiding employees on policies and laws related to the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of employees" to Article 22.
In addition, the delegate proposed to remove Clause 2, Article 31 due to the content overlapping with Clause 3, Article 25; and at the same time supplement regulations that commune, ward, and special zone trade unions have the power and task of guiding and directing affiliated trade unions to organize congresses and conferences according to the provisions of Article 33.
The conference is an opportunity for trade union officials to promote their sense of responsibility and contribute their intelligence to the process of completing important documents of the trade union organization.
The opinions raised all aim to ensure that the content of amendments and supplements closely follows reality, meets the requirements of trade union activities in the new situation, and at the same time more clearly reflects the thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers.
