After the 2026 Lunar New Year holiday, production and business activities in Lao Cai ward quickly returned to stability.
Lao Cai Ward Trade Union is currently focusing on implementing practical care activities for workers, and at the same time promoting the establishment of grassroots trade unions at enterprises.
Statistics for the first quarter of 2026 show that Lao Cai Ward Trade Union has synchronously implemented activities to care for and support union members and workers, with a total budget of more than 350.5 million VND.
In which, 233 union members in difficult circumstances were supported with a total amount of 290 million VND; 6 cases of children of orphaned union members with dangerous diseases were given separate attention and support.
Notably, 300 union members participated in the "Online Trade Union Tet Market" program, with a total support value of 150 million VND, contributing to helping workers celebrate Tet more fully.
In addition, the program "Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" was organized with many meaningful activities, providing support to 90 union members in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of 117 million VND.
The Ward Trade Union also coordinated with the Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations to give gifts to difficult households in the area, with a total budget of 25 million VND.
Caring work continues to be maintained through visiting and supporting union members at enterprises, promptly encouraging workers to stabilize their lives and feel secure at work.
In parallel with that, the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union also urged units to implement democracy regulations, organize conferences of officials and civil servants, and employee conferences, contributing to ensuring the legitimate rights of employees right from the grassroots level.
Along with care work, the expansion of trade union organizations continues to be identified as a key task.
In the first quarter, Lao Cai Ward Trade Union proactively approached and worked with a number of businesses in the area to mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions.
Currently, some businesses are in the process of completing dossiers, expected to soon launch a trade union organization, thereby expanding the network and attracting more union members and workers to participate.
In addition, propaganda work has been promoted, focusing on disseminating the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, especially contents directly related to workers.
Cultural and sports activities, ensuring traffic safety are also being implemented, contributing to improving the spiritual life of union members.
On March 25, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Dang Nguyen Hoan, Chairman of the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union, said that the early and synchronous implementation of care activities has created a positive spread among union members and workers.
Practical support programs not only help workers reduce difficulties but also create attachment to the trade union organization. This is also the foundation for us to promote the establishment of grassroots trade unions at enterprises, expanding the coverage of the organization in the coming time," Mr. Hoan emphasized.
In the second quarter of 2026, the trade union determined to continue to promote propaganda, strengthen access to businesses, and mobilize the establishment of grassroots trade unions.
At the same time, maintain the effectiveness of care activities, especially during "Workers' Month" and "Labor Safety - Hygiene Month", contributing to stabilizing life and building harmonious labor relations in the area.
