The free wireless Internet access system at worker dormitories is one of the key activities to concretize Project No. 04 of Hai Phong City Labor Federation on replicating the model "Civilized and Safe Worker Housing Area" for the period 2025-2030. This is also an event in response to Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and the Hai Phong Red Flamboyant Flower Festival 2026.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Standing Vice Chairman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation emphasized that, along with taking care of wages, jobs and working conditions, improving cultural and spiritual life, and supporting information access for migrant workers in boarding houses is always a task of particular concern to the Trade Union organization.

Since 2022, the City Labor Federation has piloted the model "Civilized and Safe Worker Housing Area" with many practical and meaningful activities such as: equipping medicine cabinets; supporting air conditioning for boarding rooms for pregnant women or women raising young children under 36 months old; installing free wireless Internet access systems; donating trash cans to sort organic and inorganic waste; organizing visits and giving gifts on the occasion of Workers' Month and Tet Reunion; propagating policies and laws; free medical examinations for boarding workers...
The opening of a free wireless Internet access system at 90 worker dormitories today is not only a meaningful gift, a sharing and companionship of the Trade Union organization and coordinating units for migrant workers, but also contributes to building a civilized, modern, and safe living environment for workers. Through this program, each dormitory will not only be a place to live but also become a "digital cultural space", where workers have more conditions to study, improve their qualifications, and access useful information after hard working hours" - the leader of Hai Phong City Labor Federation said.
Also at the opening ceremony, Viettel Hai Phong donated 150 smart smoke warning sets to 50 worker dormitories in the city, contributing to ensuring fire safety in dormitories.
