On August 6, Area Management Working Group No. 8 of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation held a conference to announce the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of communes and wards.
The program was attended by Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, officials of the Area Management Working Group No. 8, union officials of communes, wards, grassroots unions and representatives of local leaders.
At the ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation announced the decision to appoint the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, the positions of Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of 13 communes and wards including: Thu Dau Mot, Phu Loi, Chanh Hiep, Binh Duong, Hoa Loi, Phu An, Binh Co, Tan Uyen, Tan Hiep, Tan Khanh, Vinh Tan, Bac Tan Uyen, Thuong Tan.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that after implementing the two-level government model, the previous Binh Duong, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federations merged to become one of the largest provincial and municipal labor federations in the country with more than 21,000 grassroots unions and nearly 2.5 million union members.

In which, the Area Management Working Group No. 8 manages 13 trade unions of communes and wards of Thu Dau Mot, Tan Uyen, Bac Tan Uyen and formerly Hoa Loi ward of Ben Cat. This area has 1,414 grassroots unions and 265,271 union members.
The task of the Group is to focus on guiding the establishment of commune and ward trade unions; co-ordinate with Party committees, authorities, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of communes and wards in orienting the activities of commune and ward trade unions in trade union activities and the workers' movement in the area.

"For the comrades in the Executive Committees of the ward and commune trade unions, we hope that they will promote a sense of responsibility, solidarity, proactiveness, creativity, stick to the grassroots, and grasp the living and working situation of workers. Timely reflect, advise and organize activities to care for and protect workers' rights more practically and effectively," said Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan.

The conference announced the decision to appoint the positions of Trade Union Chairmen of 13 communes and wards including: Mr. Ly Van Minh - Chairman of Thu Dau Mot Ward Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Pham Minh Thai - Chairman of Phu Loi Ward Trade Union; Ms. Nguyen Thi Truc Chi - Chairman of Chanh Hiep Ward Trade Union; Mr. Pham Tuan Tu - Chairman of Binh Duong Ward Trade Union;
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich - Chairwoman of Hoa Loi Ward Trade Union; Mr. Vo Trung Hieu - Chairman of Phu An Ward Trade Union; Mr. Le Minh Hoang - Chairman of Binh Co Ward Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Van To - Chairman of Tan Hiep Ward Trade Union; Ms. Tran Ngoc Huyen Trang - Chairman of Tan Khanh Ward Trade Union; Mr. Nguyen Hong Khanh - Chairman of Vinh Tan Ward Trade Union;
Mr. Vo Thai Cuong - Chairman of Tan Uyen Ward Trade Union; Ms. Ngo Thi Hong Van - Chairman of Bac Tan Uyen Commune Trade Union; Mr. Le Minh Dung - Chairman of Thuong Tan Commune Trade Union.
2,200 gifts to support union members in difficulty
Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that on the occasion of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, Area Management Working Group No. 8 was allocated 2,200 gifts to support union members and workers in difficulty. Each gift worth 1 million VND, through the trade unions of communes and wards, will be given to disadvantaged workers in the locality.
