On April 1st, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized a conference to summarize 15 years of implementing Resolution 6a of the Executive Committee of the 10th Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on "continuing to innovate the content, methods and improve the quality of grassroots trade union activities".
The conference objectively and comprehensively assessed the results of 15 years of implementing Resolution 6a in the province before the merger and at present; clearly analyzed the shortcomings, limitations and causes; thereby proposing directions, tasks, and solutions in the coming time to continue innovating and improving the quality and efficiency of trade union activities, meeting the requirements in the new period.
The whole province has more than 114,800 trade union members; 721 grassroots trade unions, professional unions. In general, the force of union members continues to develop, the rate of union member gathering is relatively high. More than 95% of grassroots trade unions develop annual operating plans, thereby showing that the content of activities is increasingly standardized, more orderly, closely following regulations and practical operating requirements.
Trade union levels continue to promote the organization of practical activities, suitable to the needs of union members and workers; pay attention to caring for material and spiritual life; participate in supervising the implementation of regimes and policies on salaries, employment, social insurance, occupational safety and health, and female workers; improve the effectiveness of dialogue at the workplace; well implement programs to care for and support union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Many patriotic emulation movements continue to be maintained and innovated, focusing on the movements "Good labor, creative labor", "Good at state affairs, good at housework", emulation movement "Innovation, creativity, efficiency in the operation of trade union organizations"...
In the past 15 years, the implementation of Resolution 6a in An Giang province (old) and Kien Giang before the merger has always received close leadership and direction from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committees, People's Committees of the two provinces; close coordination of departments, agencies, branches, mass organizations, local Party committees and the efforts of trade union levels throughout the province.
In the coming time, the Provincial Labor Federation will continue to thoroughly grasp and seriously and widely implement Resolution No. 6a, further raising the awareness and responsibility of trade union levels, especially the team of grassroots trade union officials, about the position and role of grassroots trade unions in the new situation.
Continue to review, consolidate, and strengthen the organizational structure of trade unions at all levels in a streamlined and effective manner, suitable to the characteristics of each type of grassroots trade union. Continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of grassroots trade union activities in the direction of taking union members and workers as the center, taking grassroots as the main operating area; focus on effectively performing the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
Improve the quality of collective bargaining, sign and effectively implement collective labor agreements, especially in the non-state enterprise sector. Proactively grasp the employment situation, income, life, working conditions, thoughts and aspirations of union members and workers; promptly participate in resolving difficulties and obstacles, limiting the occurrence of labor disputes and collective work stoppages.
The Provincial Labor Federation, together with CEP Microfinance Organization, Long Xuyen branch, also signed a coordination plan. At the Program, CEP Microfinance Organization, Long Xuyen branch, presented loan disbursement support to 18 union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
