On June 28, Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor announced that the unit had received 521 grassroots unions to directly manage and direct activities, with a total of more than 35,400 union members working in these units.
This is a step to implement the direction of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on reorganizing the political system in a streamlined manner, operating effectively and efficiently.
Mr. Hoang Lien - Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation said that before the arrangement, the whole province had 1,456 grassroots unions with more than 65,500 union members.
After implementing the policy of ending trade union activities in agencies and units receiving 100% of salaries from the State budget, the trade unions at the grassroots level have stopped 944 grassroots trade unions, equivalent to more than 30,000 union members.
Along with that, Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor also decided to terminate the activities of 12 trade unions at the grassroots level, including 10 district-level Labor Federations and the Party and Government Trade Unions.
"The number of grassroots trade unions that are handed over and received under the Provincial Federation of Labor this time is mainly in enterprises, units that do not receive 100% of budget salaries and grassroots trade unions", Mr. Hoang Lien informed.
Mr. Le Van Hoan - Chairman of the Trade Union of Dong Thuy Company Limited said that the unit was previously under the Duc Trong District Labor Federation. After the district stopped trade union activities, the unit was transferred to the province.
"Directing and guiding the Provincial Federation of Labor will help grassroots trade unions operate more smoothly, access information faster and more fully. Especially in building harmonious labor relations, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers, Mr. Hoan shared.
