Currently, the Hue City Labor Federation has 27 union officials, 503 affiliated trade unions and nearly 54,000 union members working directly at the City Labor Federation.
According to Mr. Le Minh Nhan - Member of the City Party Committee, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Vice Chairman of the City Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Hue City Labor Federation, implementing the Party's major policy on streamlining the organizational apparatus, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, the Hue City Labor Federation has completed the process of reorganizing the Trade Union system in the city. This is a strategic step, of great significance, marking a new stage of development in improving the capacity to represent, care for and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers in the new situation.
The Hue City Labor Federation has assigned specific tasks to each affiliated unit, directing the grassroots trade unions to review and classify grassroots trade unions and union members; develop a plan to end the operation of grassroots trade unions under administrative agencies and public service units receiving 100% of salaries from the State budget; end the Executive Committee and Inspection Committee activities of 15 grassroots trade unions directly above the grassroots level; at the same time, hand over 503 affiliated trade unions and nearly 54,000 union members to work directly at the City Labor Federation. The transfer process was carried out carefully, ensuring continuity, not disrupting the activities of the Trade Union organization and the rights of union members.
The completion of the reorganization of the city's Trade Union apparatus is a strategic change, demonstrating the proactiveness and high political determination of the Trade Union staff. From this new platform, Hue City Trade Union will continue to promote its role as a reliable support for workers, improve representative capacity, take more practical care of union members' lives, jobs, and rights; and actively contribute to the sustainable socio-economic development of the city in the new period.
Immediately after merging into the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the City Labor Federation quickly stabilized the organization, assigned clear people and work, ensuring no gaps in direction and management.
Mr. Le Minh Nhan affirmed: Although the apparatus is streamlined, the work of caring for workers is not interrupted but is also promoted and implemented more substantially. We identify that the trade union must be a solid support for union members and workers.
The reality at grassroots trade unions shows that trade union activities are increasingly in-depth, methodical and suitable to the actual situation. During working sessions with enterprises such as Billion Max Vietnam Export Company Limited, Kim Long Motors Hue Joint Stock Company, SCAVI Hue Company Limited... The Hue City Labor Federation promptly grasped the concerns of union members and workers, thereby removing obstacles and proposing appropriate solutions to ensure their legitimate rights.
In addition to professional support, the Hue City Labor Federation also focuses on training and improving the capacity of Trade Union officials, especially in the context of many changes in organizational models and management methods. Building grassroots democracy regulations, ensuring salary, insurance, welfare regimes, etc. is considered a key and regular task in the grassroots trade union development strategy.
