The delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour was led by Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh - Member of the Presidium, Head of the External Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; and Mr. Kim Dong Myeong - Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions.
At the meeting, Mrs. Trinh Thi Hoa - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Labour Federation reported to the delegation on the basic developments in the province's economic and social development as well as the basic activities of the labour federation at all levels in Thanh Hoa Province.
According to the Labour Federation of Thanh Hoa Province, the Labour Federation was established on October 10, 1946, after 78 years of construction and development, the Labour Federation of Thanh Hoa Province is currently directly managing 35 trade unions at the grassroots level, 3 trade unions at the grassroots level, with a total of 352,872 workers, of which 340,083 workers are union members living in 3,764 trade unions and 6 trade unions.
Also according to the Labour Federation of Thanh Hoa Province, there are currently 12 Korean companies with a total of 23,729 workers, 22,850 union members, mainly in the garment industry. All Korean companies are large production and business units and take good care of workers.
Over the past time, the labour federation at all levels in Thanh Hoa has focused on the grassroots, mobilized resources to support union members and workers to stabilize their lives and work with peace of mind.
From 2023 to July 2024, the labour federation at all levels in Thanh Hoa has allocated funds from its operational budget and mobilized resources from various agencies, units and enterprises to visit and give gifts to 1,126,208 union members and workers, with a total value of 779.264 billion dong; and supported the renovation and repair of 225 "Labour Union Homes" for union members and workers in difficult circumstances, with a total value of 8.09 billion dong...
At the meeting, Mrs. Bui Thi Hong Hiep - Chairman of the Trade Union of S&H Vina Thach Thanh Company reported that the company currently has 4,927 union members and workers, mainly female.
With the support of the superior trade union and the special attention of the company's leaders, the company's trade union has actively participated in all activities of the superior trade union, especially when participating in activities, the company has paid wages; the company has implemented the rights and interests of workers in a timely manner; workers have been informed and consulted on the company's programs, especially wages and bonuses, so workers are very confident in their work, labor relations have been stable and harmonious over the years.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Kim Dong Myeong - Chairman of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Thanh Hoa Province for creating favorable conditions for Korean companies to set up factories and organize production over the years, and thanked hundreds of thousands of workers from Thanh Hoa who have been and are working with Korean companies.
Especially, Mr. Kim Dong Myeong expressed his gratitude to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the labour federation at all levels in Thanh Hoa for always supporting and caring for workers, organizing many meaningful and useful programs to contribute to building good and effective labor relations.
According to Mr. Kim Dong Myeong, the scale of ODA investment from Korea is increasing in Vietnam; in addition, private investment is developing strongly, he hopes that the leaders of Korean companies and the labour federation will always work together to ensure the rights and interests of workers and always listen to and respect workers.
According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh - Member of the Presidium, Head of the External Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, through the working visit to S&H Vina Thach Thanh Company and other units, the high-level delegation of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions has a deeper understanding of the effective care and support of the labour federation in Vietnam.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh highly appreciated the trade union activities and the production and business results of S&H Vina Thach Thanh Company. The company has created jobs and income for thousands of workers and hopes that the company will continue to care for and create conditions for workers, and create conditions for the trade union to operate to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers and build harmonious and progressive labor relations for the benefit of workers and the development of the company.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Thinh hopes that after this working visit, the relationship between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions will continue to develop and be more effective.
After the meeting, the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Labour Federation of Thanh Hoa Province and the leaders of the company joyfully had a "Labour Union Meal" with over 4,000 workers.
