Caring for depth and sustainability
On October 19, the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union, Da Nang City held the 1st Trade Union Congress, term 2025-2030. Reporting at the Congress, Mr. Le Trong Nguyen, Chairman of the Lien Chieu Ward Labor Federation, said: After more than three months of operation, the Lien Chieu Ward Labor Union has affirmed its true representative role.
Through the organization of the Workers' Conference by 61.5% of units, 32 dialogues were conducted and 19/30 units and enterprises signed Collective Labor Agreements (63.3%). The agreements no longer copy the law, but have additional provisions beneficial to workers: from rest time to shift meals, the minimum is 15,000 VND, in many places it is 30,00035,000 VND/person.
Legal consultation channels via phone, Zalo, and social networks help workers receive timely support on insurance, contracts, and maternity benefits. At the same time, occupational safety and hygiene, fire prevention and fighting, and periodic health check-ups are maintained regularly. "Representative" is now not only the right to speak on behalf of others, but the regular and specific presence of the Trade Union at each enterprise and each job position.
Caring for the welfare of union members and workers is in-depth and sustainable. With three newly built and repaired "Union Shelters" (120 million VND), 236 emergency supports (118 million VND) to help union members overcome difficulties; 350 Tet gifts, 370 pairs of banh chung, 427 free bus tickets for workers away from home, along with a series of activities "Union Meal", "Tan ca vui khoe", "Workers' Market", "Happy Full Moon Festival" ... held in recent times.
In particular, 31 self-managed workers' groups with more than 4,600 members, including 2 groups at social housing apartments in the ward, are becoming the "ET" for local security and safety. Each session is short but effective: providing escape instructions, disseminating social insurance laws, answering questions about contracts or overtime. The union appears as a close neighbor - listening, sharing and protecting.
Innovation to create the future
Mr. Le Trong Nguyen said: Entering the 2025-2030 term, the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union Congress has identified three breakthrough programs: Improving the quality of negotiation and signing of Collective Labor Agreements at enterprises and private preschools; the program "Lien Chieu Trade Union connecting jobs - Creating the future", playing a role as a bridge connecting the local labor market; Comprehensive care for temporary workers through self-managed workers' groups in the boarding house area.
The term indicators are specifically qualified: 100% of enterprises with 20 or more employees establish grassroots trade unions; develop 1,500 new union members; 90% of enterprise trade unions have collective agreements; 100% of cases where employees need to be consulted - argue with the participation of trade unions; 80% of union members enjoy cultural and sports activities.
Ward trade unions also promote the application of technology, aiming for 100% of grassroots trade unions to use digital platforms in managing union members, propagating, and caring for welfare. In the context of deep integration, when the CPTPP Agreement allows the formation of an organization of workers outside the Vietnam Trade Union system, Lien Chieu chose the path to improve the quality of representation so that workers voluntarily stick with the real value they receive every day.
From sustainable representation to profound welfare and strong innovation, the 1st Congress of the Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union not only started one term, but also launched a two-level ward-level trade union model - close to the people, flexible and effective.
When each shift meal is nutritious, each boarding house is safe, each dialogue becomes a habit, that is the most vivid image of an organization that is innovating through action, contributing to building a rich, modern and humane Lien Chieu.
