On the afternoon of June 12, Ms. Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen - Vice President of the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor (LDLD) and the working delegation and the Tran De Fishing Port Management Board visited and expressed condolences to the family of worker N.T. P (born in 1993) in Nha Tho hamlet, Trung Binh commune (Tran De district).
Mr. P is a member of the Tran De Fishing Port Loading and unloading Union. Previously, at around 10:45 a.m. on June 11, while operating a ice grinder at the port, Mr. P suddenly slipped and was caught in a working machine.
The incident caused his right leg to be crushed to the sides of his knee. Although he was taken to Soc Trang General Hospital for emergency treatment, Mr. P did not survive due to losing too much blood.
At the visit, Ms. Trinh Thi Bao Khuyen expressed her condolences for the loss of her family and encouraged the family to overcome the pain soon. Ms. Khuyen also expressed her hope that employers need to pay more attention to occupational safety and hygiene to prevent unfortunate accidents.
In order to share the difficulties with the victim's family, the Soc Trang Provincial Federation of Labor has supported 5 million VND, and the Tran De District Federation of Labor has supported an additional 1 million VND.
It is known that immediately after the accident, the Head of the Union Group of the Tran De Fishing Port Loading and Loading Union supported the victim's family with 52 million VND. At the same time, he pledged to support Mr. Phuc's mother with 1 million VND per month until the end of his life.
