On May 16, the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation organized the peak period "Day for Workers' Health" in 2026 at the Provincial Labor Culture House, located in Long Xuyen ward. The program aims to mobilize about 300 union members, workers, and laborers to participate in voluntary blood donation; and at the same time combine examination, screening, health consultation and free medicine distribution.

The activity is implemented by the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation in coordination with An Giang General Hospital, Saigon Kien Giang Eye Hospital Joint Stock Company and the An Giang Provincial Red Cross Society.

This is the third activity phase in the series of programs "Day for Workers' Health" in 2026 implemented by Trade Union levels in the province to respond to World Health Day and "All People's Voluntary Blood Donation Day". Previously, the program was organized at TBS An Giang Joint Stock Company and the Provincial Labor Culture House, attracting a large number of union members and workers to participate.

According to the plan, this year's program is themed "Proactive disease prevention - For a healthy Vietnam", aiming to raise awareness for union members and workers about proactive health care, occupational disease prevention, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regular physical training.

In addition to voluntary blood donation activities, workers are also given general health check-ups, screening for some common occupational diseases and chronic diseases such as musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory diseases; are advised on nutrition, mental health care, improved sleep and balance between work and life. The organizers also provide free medicine for workers in need.

According to the An Giang Provincial Labor Federation, the "Day for Workers' Health" is not only a practical activity to care for union members but also contributes to spreading the message of building a safe and civilized working environment; improving the quality of human resources and sustainable business development.

Through the program, the Trade Union organization also promotes propaganda on occupational disease prevention and control, builds "No smoking workplaces", improves the quality of shift meals, launches movements to train physical strength, occupational safety and hygiene, and maintains the habit of blood donation to save people among workers.

This is a practical activity of the An Giang Provincial Trade Union to respond to the "Day for Workers' Health" 2026 plan of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, taking workers as the center and practical effectiveness as a measure in health care activities.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also arranged a labor protection booth for delegates to access and connect needs for protective equipment for their units; and at the same time organized a calligraphy booth, creating humanistic and souvenir highlights for participants on the weekend.
