Ms. Ha - an office worker, after quitting her job, realized that the labor market was no longer as easy as before. After nearly a month of unemployment, Ms. Ha had to change all spending plans, spending a maximum of 40,000 VND per day.
According to the female employee, unemployment is an obsession every time I remember it.
I quit my job because my boss lit the blue light implying that someone else was not inferior in ability but was willing to receive a salary lower than me at present. The peak period when the boss increasingly made things difficult at work, made me decide to leave even though I had not worked for a full year to receive unemployment benefits" - Ms. Ha said.
Ms. Ha's job is to take care of fanpages. After quitting her job, Ms. Ha " died" her job application in nearly a dozen companies, but very few companies responded. There are also some companies that responded, but after the interview, Ms. Ha was not satisfied because of the long distance or the salary was lower than expected...
During her job search, Ms. Ha realized that the current labor market is extremely fierce, no longer the same as before. With more than enough money than demand, and female employees have to compete with AI to the point that the starting salary of 2 years ago is still a fairly ideal number for the present.
During her unemployment period, Ms. Ha shared that she had 8 million VND on her, but after paying for the rent, electricity and water... there was only more than 6 million VND left. This means that female employees must change their spending and living habits.
In the morning, I fast, sleep until 8:30 to wake up, move my body, go online to find a job... and go to lunch until 10:30 to go. Lunch is sometimes made with noodles, a box of milk, sometimes a box of sticky rice, instant noodles. Only for dinner do I eat rice, cook or eat a maximum of 30,000 VND to save money" - Ms. Ha recalled.
Before finding a job, Ms. Ha also refused coffee calls with friends, only going out to drink water to avoid waste, but only a few sessions a month.
When parents or relatives call to ask about work, Ms. Ha replied that she was still working normally and did not dare to tell the truth.
Just like that, after 25 days of unemployment, Ms. Ha's weight decreased due to poor diet, lack of regulation, and occasional stomach pain due to... hunger, and lack of breakfast.
Unemployment has made Ms. Ha even more surprised by the advice of her colleagues who have worked with her for 8 years. Although she was not satisfied, she still stuck and did not resign.
Finally, when the level of depression due to unemployment lasted too long, Ms. Ha said she had to reduce her demand when looking for a job. To have a job, the female employee accepted a salary 2 million VND lower than her old job.
Although her income is low, according to Ms. Ha, it is better than prolonging, causing fatigue in all aspects.
When I wanted to quit my job, I thought I needed to try to work for more than a year to be eligible for unemployment benefits. We should only quit when we have found a new job or seen certain opportunities after leaving, not be vague or quit work based on feelings or interests" - Ms. Ha advised.
