On October 15, Mr. Uong Quang Huy - Vice President of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (VTC) said that, responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and implementing Joint Directive No. 630/CTLT-EVN-CDDVN of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and the VTC on helping the Cuban people, recently, the leaders of the VTC representing nearly 100,000 workers and union members in the entire Group presented 1 billion VND to support the Cuban people.
The donation is mobilized from the Internal Social Security Program for Workers, Support for Compatriots to Overcome Natural Disasters and Funds and help the Cuban People launched by EVN and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (according to Joint Directive No. 630/CTLT-EVN-CDDDVN, issued on October 3, 2025). Accordingly, the entire Group has mobilized 1 billion VND to support the Cuban people.
On behalf of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society Nguyen Hai Anh expressed his emotion at the heart of the EVN staff, and at the same time sent his sincere thanks to all employees in the Group.
At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh assessed that this is a noble gesture, not only contributing to expressing the spirit of mutual love of the Vietnamese people but also deepening the close affection between the two countries, and practically responding to the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (December 2, 1960 - December 2, 2025).
Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh said that he will work with the Central Committee of the Red Cross Society to quickly carry out procedures to transfer donations to the neighboring country, promptly share difficulties, contribute to encouraging and supporting the Cuban people to overcome challenges and rise up in life.
