Expanding housing opportunities for workers
Hung Yen has just started construction of the first rental housing projects serving workers, including accommodation and social housing areas in Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park and social housing projects in Pho Hien ward.
On June 28, Green i-Park Joint Stock Company started a project in Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park, with a scale of about 52ha, meeting the housing needs of workers, laborers and experts.
In which, the apartment building for rent in area No. 1 is built on an area of more than 3,170m2 with 3 6-story apartment blocks, expected to provide 320 apartments for rent with areas from 28.5m2 to 70m2. Currently, building A1 has been put into operation, building A2 is expected to be put into use from January 2027.
At the same time, Vingroup Group also started construction of rental housing under the social housing project in Pho Hien ward. The project is developed according to the model of social housing for rent for people who do not have enough conditions to buy a house but need a stable long-term residence. The apartments are designed modernly, synchronously with the internal traffic system, parking lots, schools, medical facilities, cultural and sports facilities and public utilities.
Mr. Le Khac Hiep - Vice Chairman of Vingroup Group - said that the enterprise will focus resources on ensuring quality, progress and construction safety, and at the same time closely coordinate with functional agencies in managing and operating the project after completion to serve the right beneficiaries.
Creating a foundation for sustainable investment attraction
According to Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee, the implementation of social housing and rental housing projects is of great significance in concretizing the Party and State's policy on developing social housing and worker housing. The province is directing departments, branches, and localities to closely coordinate with investors to accelerate progress, striving to complete more than 6,000 social housing units in 2026 and over 56,000 units in the 2026-2030 period.
According to the Chairman of Hung Yen Provincial People's Committee, rental housing not only meets the housing needs of workers but also creates a civilized living environment, connects labor with businesses and increases investment attraction.
Previously, at a working session on June 1, 2026 with leaders of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen provinces on developing rental housing, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung emphasized that developing rental housing is a major policy of the Party and State, with strategic significance in ensuring social security and sustainable industrial development.
According to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, the key economic region of the North concentrates hundreds of thousands of workers, but the housing fund for rent, especially long-term rental housing at reasonable prices, is still very lacking; most workers still have to rent spontaneous boarding houses, posing many risks to safety and quality of life. The Prime Minister requested localities to drastically implement this policy, both meeting the housing needs of workers and reducing the pressure of home ownership and creating motivation for economic development.
Hung Yen starts construction of the first rental housing projects, contributing to ensuring housing, retaining labor and increasing investment attraction in industrial parks.
