Many measures to prevent heat for workers in Nam Dinh

Hà Vi |

To ensure the health of workers and laborers during the hot season, many companies in Nam Dinh have prepared measures to fight the heat right at the workshop.

Long Yu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Tan Thinh commune, Nam Truc district, Nam Dinh province) specializes in export garment production, creating jobs for nearly 500 workers.

In order for the factory to always be clean and cool, the company invests in the ventilation fan system. In particular, this time, the company has arranged hygiene, repaired the cooling water system and ventilation fans to serve workers in the hot season. Besides, the summer months the company adds cool water with a hot - cold water mode arranged around the workshop area and refrigerator to make ice.

Working together in a factory without air conditioners due to space characteristics, Viet Thuan Garment Company Limited (Hoa Xa Industrial Park, Nam Dinh City) has implemented many solutions to limit the impact of weather on workers' health.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hue - Chairwoman of the company's Trade Union, during the hot season (from May), the company adds cool water such as sugar alcohol lemon juice, and the finished goods bring to the work area of workers in the workshop. Workers with refreshment needs can easily use it.

This year alone, the company has a direction to support employees in the hot season with an amount of 500,000 VND/person/month (from June to September). As for shift meals, when the temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius, the cafeteria will serve additional cool ceiling water for employees to use right at the meal, said Ms. Hue.

Ms. Dang Thi Thu Trang (worker at Viet Thuan Garment Company Limited) shared: "Although the inside of the workshop is not air conditioned, with the advantage of growing many trees around the company, it creates a cool green space, helping us work less heat. During working time, there is also ice lemon juice, so it helps us cool down better."

At Maxport Limited Viet Nam - Nam Dinh Branch (also known as Maxport Nam Dinh 5) to create a "green - clean - beautiful" working environment for employees, the company has designed a campus with a system of green trees and clean vegetable gardens right at the workplace.

Mr. Pham Van Thuy - Vice Chairman of Maxport Nam Dinh 5 Trade Union - informed that since the company came into operation in 2013, a system of ancient trees, fruit trees, flower trees, ... have been planted around the factories to create shade, fresh and airy premises for workers.

Mr. Pham Van Huy (working at Maxport Nam Dinh 5) said: "In the hot season, working in the company's green space, I feel less pressured. Right from the gate to the green tree system, shade is issued, creating a fresh space for employees when coming to the company. From the factory, to go to any area, we can go in cool tree trunks.

In addition to the proactiveness of enterprises, Nam Dinh Provincial Trade Unions at all levels organize dialogues, negotiations, and propose many solutions to prevent heat for workers. During the sunny and hot peak months of the summer, the trade union guides grassroots trade unions to implement solutions to prevent summer heat for workers.
