Attending the conference were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL); Mr. Ta Van Long - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Yen Bai province.
Currently, Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor manages 13 grassroots trade unions, 1,058 grassroots trade unions, and 45,573 union members.
In 2024, Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor successfully hosted the Conference to summarize the emulation bloc of the Fatherland Front and provincial unions; Conference to summarize the emulation cluster of the Labor Federation of 7 provinces in the Northern Midlands and Mountains; Conference to launch emulation cluster No. 4 under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (Confederation of Labor of 7 provinces in the Northwestern Midlands and Mountains).
In order to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3, the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor in coordination with the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee used the Provincial Federation of Labor Sports Gymnasium as a point to receive relief goods of the province; established a "Trade Union Emergency Rescue Team" consisting of 13 members, performing 30 days of duty with 62 working days to transport 127 tons of various goods, escorting 29 shipments to districts, towns and cities in the province.
The Provincial Federation of Labor arranged for 76 union members, workers, local people, and benefactors to eat and stay for free for 20 consecutive days at the Provincial Federation of Labor Guest House. Unions at all levels also mobilized over 2,000 union members and workers to perform thousands of labor tasks.
The Provincial Federation of Labor also supported 12 families of full-time union officials affected by natural disasters; coordinated with the Working Group of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the Federations of Labor of provinces and cities, the Central Trade Unions, agencies, organizations, enterprises, localities, and benefactors to promptly visit, encourage, and give gifts to share and help the people, union members, and workers.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - commended the results and achievements of the work and activities of the Yen Bai provincial trade union in 2024. The achieved results have made important contributions to the socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security of the province.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong emphasized that the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor needs to focus on activities to care for union members and workers, especially during the Lunar New Year 2025 according to the policies and plans of the Presidium of the General Confederation of Labor, promote training, fostering, and building a team of union officials with capacity, qualifications, enthusiasm, skills, and working methods that proactively adapt to changes in the situation and the requirements and tasks of the new period.
“2025 is the year to celebrate many important holidays and political events of the country, the year of Party Congresses at all levels, so the provincial trade union needs to launch emulation campaigns to carry out projects and tasks to welcome the Party Congress in conjunction with effectively implementing existing emulation movements of trade unions and local Party committees,” said the Standing Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On this occasion, the Executive Committee of the Yen Bai Provincial Federation of Labor awarded Certificates of Merit to the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund; Northwest Office - Labor Newspaper and reporter Cao Van Tuan (Northwest Office, Labor Newspaper) for their many achievements in caring for union members and workers in the area.
