Mr. Nguyen Thai Vu - Vice Chairman of the Trade Union of HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (HVS) said that since November 5, the Company has issued a notice to more than 3,000 officers and employees to take a day off from work from the afternoon of November 6 to focus on storm prevention.
This morning, about 1,000 workers were mobilized to carry out the work of reinforcing the factory, ensuring the safety of machinery and equipment before storm No. 13 made landfall.


The entire company will arrange 180 people and 15 members of the Storm Prevention Board to be on duty at the factory to handle bad situations that occur (if any) when the storm makes landfall.
According to Mr. Vu, according to the recommendations of the authorities on storm No. 13 Kalmaegi, the Company has quickly implemented storm prevention measures according to the correct procedures to ensure absolute safety for workers, ships and assets.

The departments have simultaneously taken many preventive measures such as moving all tools, equipment and supplies in the 1, 2, 3 port areas to safe places; collecting easy-to- fly materials, fixing A-shaped scales, mobile phones and equipment over 2m high.
The mobile roofs are securely tied, the drainage system is opened to avoid flooding.
All types of cranes are fixed with a storm-proof anchor system, the cake crane needs to be lowered to the ground, the blocks are carefully piled and tied.
The inspection of ship anchorages and paired buoys is carried out seriously, ensuring safety according to standards. In addition, HVS requires staff to close all main doors, windows, and factory doors before 1:00 p.m. on November 6.
At the same time, it is necessary to disseminate to workers absolutely not to go to the port area or stand under the block when the storm comes.

At An Hung Company Limited from 10:00 a.m. on November 6, all workers were given a day off to prevent storm No. 13.
Mr. Phan Dinh Hong, Chairman of the Company's Trade Union, said that the enterprise has 2,200 employees.
In response to the warning of the danger of storm No. 13, the company's Board of Directors decided to let workers take a day off until November 8, depending on the actual situation after the storm, they will be notified to return to work.

This morning alone, the Company mobilized about 1,000 mainly male workers to reinforce, cover, and protect the factory warehouse.
By 10am today, it has been completed, and the storm-only force of about 100 people will remain on duty all night to ensure timely response if a bad situation occurs when affected by the storm.
